“Definately not 4 Star”

The location of this hotel is absolutely beautiful ,set at the top of Lake Garda with stunning views and the village of Nago is charming. Unfortunately the hotel does not live up to the expectations that one has of a 4 star hotel. The hotel lobby and reception area is cluttered with odd pieces of furniture and numerous plants. The swimming pool is at the back of the hotel and is far too small for the number of guests but can only be reached by walking over dirty old bits of soggy carpet. The rooms were not paricularly clean and fitments in the bathroom were broken.
The food was not at all appetising and was very much like eating in a canteen.
I was so disappointed with this hotel and quite upset as I had taken my mum there to help her get over the death of my father and I had to ask the tour operator to move us to another hotel which they did without any problem. We were not the only guests who asked to move hotel.
I feel that this hotel should not be graded as 4 star as compared to other 4 star hotels that I have stayed in this falls way below the standard.

“4 star - you must be joking!”

The rooms were OK and the location was what was expected but any
resemblance to a 4 star hotel was purely coincidental. The dining room
and the meals were poor to say the least. Although the brochure stated
that there was a choice of 3 main courses this was NEVER the case and
we constantly had to request various dishes (even bread) to be replenished
at breakfast. Talk about portion control! We have stayed at some wonderful 4 star hotels in Italy. This was certainly not one of them. Don't
bother!

Just returned 07/09/2005 from a 10 day holiday in the North of Lake Garda. What impressed us most was the litter free environment and chewing gum free pavements. The area lends itself to healthy activities from the evening promenade, longer walks at your own pace along the many cycle/pedestrain pathways of high quality tarmac, with seating areas to break your journey, numerous cycle hire & wind surfing hire outlets.
The local bus service allowed you the chance to walk to the neighbouring villages with the opportunity to take a bus back to base. Average cost of a single bus journey 0.90 euros.
Should you decide to take to the water, the North Lake Ferry system will allow you to choose which of the villages to visit and length of time in each village at a cost of 12.60 euros for a day ticket, allowing you to visit Riva, Torbole, Limone or Malcesine.
We stayed at the 4 star Continental Hotel; one of the Tontelli family run hotels in Nago, where we found the rooms of satisfactory standard. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedlinen supplied daily. The staff were attentive. We found the designated dining table allocation for the duration of our stay not to our liking. We did notice a change in the service when a bus party dominated the proceedings in the last days of our holiday. The quiet village location did not lend itself to the after dinner promenade popular in the Mediteranean. Perhaps for those wishing the same standard of hotel, with more on offer in an evening ,they should consider one of the groups Hotels in Riva.

We stayed at the Continental for a week in early July and had a perfect week. Yes the public areas are a little small and not pristine, yes after a week the buffet was a little repetitive and the dining room cramped but the other aspects of the hotel compensated. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were cleaned every day with clean linen and towels and the location of the hotel was what we wanted quiet but with easy access to the roads and other areas. The best bit for us was the value. We booked direct with the hotel and took their inclusive package at £33 per night each which we felt was superb value.

I am just back from hotel Continental and it was one of the best hotels that I ever have been. The staf is very friendly, the food is very good but for lunch and breakfast is it almost every day the same. The swimming pool are fantastic!!! Outside, there is a whirlpool, in the swimming pool bubbels and a bar. Inside is also a whirlpool, sauna and a smal fitness area. The rooms are very properly. The side is also beautiful, the lake and the Monte Baldo are fantastic. Sorry that I write a lof of mistakes but I am from Belgium and I am 16years old. I just wound to say that this hotel is very good!!!! There are peoples from Antwerp who stayed there also and they go to hotel Continental for 43 years!!!!!! that say enough-------------> very good hotel
