Had a lovely stay at shizumasa, located close to station, nearby sento is a must, friendly owner, helpful, polite, room was great AC if needed, wifi worked well, clean towel daily, washing machine for 200¥.
Can wear yukata also, local shops and izakaya really good,
A good place to base yourself and explore tokyo and do day trips out of tokyo, very close to haneda airport,
Quiet area, no complaints, would definitely go back to stay again :0)
We all having great time while staying at Ryokan Shizumasa. We love the real japanese environment around there. We found good cafe, japanese brakefast in cheaper price than center of tokyo near by the ryokan. The owner was very nice, They advice us to try sento (Japanese communal bath house) that not far from the ryokan . It's was really good experience.
As an American visiting Japan for the first time, I can't begin to explain how great it was to have a fully immersive Japanese experience my first night in. The space was comfortable and the location was perfect. I highly recommend this Ryokan over any hotel, especially for foreigners who want the full Japan experience.
I had one night at Ryokan Shizumasa and enjoyed a lot.
Shizumasa is truly homely with the real Japanese atmosphere.
It's managed by a family, and they use a part of 1st floor for their lives. The owner is not so talkative, but she's kind and I enjoyed having conversations with her at night and in the morning.
The room fee is 4000 yen for one person for one night and 7000 yen for two people. It's very cheap and I think it's one of the cheapest in this area.
The location is also good. It's in Shinagawa and it takes only a few minutes from the nearest station.
There are 2 or 3 temples or shrines, and lots of interesting local bars near Shizumasa.
I think this area has lots of histories and things to see. I didn't have much time to hang out but I'll go for a walk and find other interesting spots next time.
