Like heaven on earth – quite simply a fantastic holiday experience.

Wonderful, helpful staff / organic, honest, home-cooked food / rustic and beautifully stylish interiors.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite which is a separate ‘scandinavian-style’ white and purple painted wooden cabin that sits on top of a hill slightly away from the main finca building – from both the King-sized bed inside and deck area outside, you overlook beautiful fields, trees, and a couple of sheep. You are totally unseen on the hill so use of the deck, hot-tub, sauna, and outdoor rain shower dressed only in your birthday suit is not a problem. Two sides of the cabin are glass, meaning beautiful light and breathtaking views – fantastic sound system, a second funky indoor shower, quiet AC, and gorgeous toiletries.

Their attention to detail is unparalleled – carefully chosen books in the library and bedroom, a diverse selection of DVDs that you can take to your room, exquisite soft furnishings - care and comfort is paramount. I lost my precious birthday bracelet – the staff went immediately out into the grounds to look for it and found it – another guest wanted her breakfast egg boiled for exactly 8 minutes – they did this, as they do everything, with a smile.

We will be heading back.

We booked a week at Es Cucons in June '08 and stayed in the Garden Suite. It was a treat for a "milestone" birthday and so we wanted it to be very special. Barbara and Maria were incredibly helpful with the booking and everything went very smoothly. We had a champagne breakfast in our room first thing on the day and a birthday cake and another bottle of champagne arrived as ordered with the evening meal.

The hotel is definitely off the beaten track which is exactly what we were looking for and the decor of the hotel and rooms was really beautiful with so much attention to detail. As there are only 14 rooms and the grounds are pretty large, there is so much space that you almost feel as if you have it all to yourself. When you do see others it's usually at meal times or around the pool area. Unfortunately the weather was a mixed while we were there so we could only sit by the pool for a couple of days but the sun loungers are the most comfortable ones I have ever used! And there are huge beds and garden seats to lounge about on too.

The food was excellent although we don't have massive appetites so some was a bit wasted on us unfortunately! The evening meal was amazing although at 45 euros per person and so much food provided we had to save our appetites for that a bit!!

I tried out a couple of the spa treatments and found those to be absolutely gorgeous.

The only small criticisms that we had were that the wall between our suite and the room door wasn't very well insulated for sound and so we heard every footstep and movement of the people next to us - why do some people drag furniture around on a tiled floor in the early hours of the morning sometimes??!!

However, in the scheme of things overall this was a really, really lovely holiday with the absolute best attention from Barbara and Maria who are really superb hosts.

    • Liked — Quality and attention to special details like fresh flowers. Food was excellent and grounds beautiful.
    • Disliked — Walls were sound-proofed enough!! Car park was quite a long walk from hotel

I am just back from Es Cucons and the only dissapointing thing is that my holidays are over.
Everything was pretty much as I had dreamed. The hotel was extremely beautifully decorated and was had incredible surroundings. Moreover, it was just a 25 drive away from anywhere on the island.
Maria and the staff were just adorable, making life as easy as it gets but without disturbing on any moment.
The only bad thing I could say is that a couple of days, the water on the bath was not as hot as we'd like it to be.
It is worth it having breakfast or dinner at the hotel and the risk is getting back home without knowing the rest of this beautiful island because you do not want to get out of the hotel.
The only thing I can say is that I am looking forward to coming back

This is the perfect place for a perfect vacation. We stayed for a week and hardly ever felt the need to leave the place - even for the beach. The hotel consists of various small Ibizan-style buidlings of which the main one used to be a finca centuries ago. Far away from the usual clubbing crowds, this really is a place to relax. And if you still fancy a party, Eivissa is only a 25 minute-drive away. A rental car is a must though, and be prepared for bumpy, winding roads as these are the only ones that lead to Es Cucons. The food in the restaurant (only open to hotel guests) is well worth its price (don't visit Ibiza if you expect good food to be cheap), the scenery is spectacular. Service is good, and all the staff is extremely helpful. As the place is family-run, everybody will know you after a day. The Pool is filled with salt water, so no itchy skin and burning eyes. As the hotel has only little more than a dozen rooms there is always enough space for all guests at the pool. All rooms are unique, and each of them comes with an extra. Ours was definitely the huge, old-fashioned bathtub (in the room, not the bathroom) that easily fitted the two of us. We'll be back.

Es Cucons Hotel Rural

beautiful intimate family-run hotel surrounded by almond fields. Pros: tasteful, excellent, friendly attentive service, great food, peaceful bit of paradise. each room is different and special and they have incorporated rustic local flavor without sacrificing comfort
Cons: slightly far from the action, especially at night since roads are windy and confusing, very expensive, internet access needs work
All in all, well worth it. Wish we could be there right now!
