The worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. Food is completely inedible including being served chicken that was raw in the middle and that was supposed to be a la carte - but at least looking on the bright side you will loose weight! Rooms are absolutely disgusting, filthy dirty and never cleaned. Everything is broken including the locks on the doors to the rooms - even the bungalows which are supposed to be superior rooms. Staff are extremely rude. Entertainment is a complete joke. I certainly would not rate it as 4 star - in fact I would be reluctant to give it any star rating at all.

Had read lots of negative comments so wasn't sure what to expect. First checked in and were given a pool bungalow. Reception staff are a little curt. Room was spacious and clean, bedding and towels all brand new, no fridge and not really four star. Door to the room was like an internal door and the lock didn't seem very secure. Own patio doors leading to terrace and bungalows grouped around own little pool which was really nice. Air conditioning did not work and water pressure was really low so took ages to shower. After 3 days the hotel confirmed they could not fix the air con so moved us to one of their premium rooms in the new area of the hotel. The new room was fantastic, two double beds, icy cold fridge and really nice bathroom, big balcony. The new block had it;s own big pool too with a swim up bar which was much nicer than the older pool area (although the older pool area was clean to be fair). Only evening bar was the pool bar which served drinks in plastic cups which was a bit depressing but I imagine this was a safety precaution. Lots of beach bars on the front which we visited in the evening but they were quite quiet I imagine as a result of the all inclusive but it's so cheap it's nice to get out of the hotel for a change. Hotel food was a bit bland but lots of choice, very nicely presented and all seemed very clean. Beach loungers were reserved by people very early in the day and people were quite snarly if you tried to take one. A bar next door on the beach does much more comfortable loungers and a parasol for about £3 a day for two which is much more pleasant. Changed money on the black market and got twice as much as the official rate - it's not intimidating at all, just go in the Internet cafe and they're very nice. Helps to speak some Spanish but it all felt extremely safe when we were out and about on the island. Angel Falls trip was out of this world and although expensive does represent good value for money. I definitely think the management of this hotel are making a big effort to improve and it shows

Having read all the previous reviews before going to this hotel I tried to keep an open mind. This holiday was booked before I found this site and gosh do I wish I had found it first. Having travelled to many parts of the world and stayed in hotels 5* to3* I would not give this hotel 1*.
The food was horrible, food that should have been hot was stone cold or at best luke warm. Cold food that was tepid. The flies, wasps and other flying insects had carte blanche to walk over all eatables. YUCK. Even the drinks were fly infested. Coffee was disgusting, milk sour.
I could go on and on and still not be able to say how awful this place is. I have not been able to go back to work since coming home due to a stomach bug I picked up at this hotel.
Please be aware this is not a place to take young children. The sea is not safe for them, the beach is infested with fleas.
All in all the worst holiday I have ever taken.

I took my husband out to this hotel for his birthday. We actually stayed in one of the bungalows when approaching the entrance to the room I did actually wonder what we were going to find, as the overall appearance from the outside was some what of putting. However once inside the room we we pleasently surprised, although the walls could do with a lick of paint we could not really find any fault with the room. The maid service was excellent providing us with clean towels & linen everyday and also general cleaning off the room.
I have seen other reports that other holiday makers have written and find it quite amusing that they have complained about the food. My answer to this is with three resturants on site you would be hard pushed to not find something that you liked.
The only faults with this hotel in general is the loud music that seems to go on endlessly, the plastic cups that the drinks are served in at the pool bar. Although l realise that there is a safety issue here, if the cups were clear plastic istead of white and there were varrying sizes according to the drinks being ordered, this would generally improve thing.
To all the other travellers who have complained if you pay for 3* accomadation DON'T EXPECT 5* SERVICE
