I read a review posted about the Beadles which was not at all kind and I felt that I just had to write this as a rebuttal. I agree that everyone has a right to an opinion, but as we say out here in the western United States, “Some folks would complain if they were hanged with a new rope”. Another old saying is “No matter where you go, there you are, you just can’t get away from yourself.”
As far as I’m concerned, anyone who stays at the Beadles and doesn’t enjoy themselves aren’t going to be happy anywhere.

I really can't say enough good things about Anne and David. They are the Beadles and they make the Beadles Bed and Breakfast the great place it is.

David met us at Heathrow with a smile and a welcoming handshake and it only got better from there. Upon arriving at their bed and breakfast, we were immediately made to feel welcome and within hours became fast friends. The accommodations were superb and the friendly atmosphere was extremely relaxing. Anne is a wonderful and caring hostess and serves a wonderful meal. David is unmatched as a host and has a wealth of knowledge of the local area and England in general and is more than willing to share. He is an excellent guide and drove us everywhere we wished to go. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and plan to return.

Any trip to England in the future will automatically include a stay at the Beadles. We are recommending them to all our friends. The stay was as pleasurable as at any five star hotel, and the personal service is unmatched.

I recommend the Beadles to anyone wishing to visit the area and enjoy outstanding hospitality, friendliness, great accommodations, and a very relaxed experience.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to the UK. Of the many places we stayed, our favorite was The Beadles in Middle Winterslow, near Salisbury. The location is ideal for exploring the city of Salisbury and its beautiful cathedral, as well as Stonehenge. David and Anne were gracious hosts and went out of their way to show us places to visit in the area. Anne is a superb cook and we had wonderful breakfasts each day. For an additional charge, you can also have dinner, which we did. The dinner was excellent.. We had the yellow room in the back, which was tastefully decorated, quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We brought my parents with us. My father has Parkinson's Disease and has difficulty getting around. Both David and Anne were so kind to him and I really appreciated their warmth. The Beadles has gracious and friendly hosts, comfortable lodgings, a great location and is a great value. We learned about it through a reader review in the San Francisco Chronicle and are so glad we clipped and saved the article. We recommend it highly and can't wait until our next visit.

This is the best B&B I have ever stayed at in the united kingdom. Mr & Mrs Baddeley are fantastic people and made me feel welcome. Warm welcome on arrival with excellent service levels. The food was amazing and the rooms were so clean, all equipped with stylish ensuite bathrooms. 5 star B & B : )

“Barely Adequate”

We traveled around Great Britain for 3 weeks and this was the worst B&B that we stayed at. First of all, it was nearly impossible to find even with directions. The sign on the main road is completely knocked over and the sign on the actual house is tiny. We called about an hour before arrival to get the directions and tell them that we were on our way and even after all that, they didn't answer the door when we arrived. We knocked and rang the bell numerous times at which point my husband had to go around the back of the house to find them. They gave us the old "we can't hear the bell" back here, which may be true, but they knew we were coming so either stay up in the front of the house where you can hear the bell or leave a note on the door. It was ridiculous. Right from the get-go, we felt like unwelcome house guests.

The accommodations were rudimentary. The room itself was of average size, but it wasn't clean - lamps, bed, etc. were covered in cobwebs. We weren't given a tour and all the doors from the entryway were closed so it appeared that there weren't any common rooms. They didn't have any maps, restaurant guides or tourist information for the area. 8:30 – 9:30 breakfast only which I think is a pretty short window considering it is a B&B. When we did come down for breakfast at 9:20, they were utterly unprepared. No milk, sugar, jelly or condiments were set out. Half the stuff was missing and only brought out after we asked for it. Finally, we don't mind animals, but I don't want all of my clothes and personal items covered in dog hair - it was everywhere.

The only reason we gave this 2 balls instead of 1 is because it was inexpensive.

“Very Cute & Affordable”

The Beadles

This property was very cute and well maintained. The room was large and the bathroom was a very good size, particularly for Europe. The owners were very nice and provided us with excellent driving direction for our departure to Stonehenge the next morning. Was a little difficult to find because their sign is small and the property is set back from the street. Would definitely stay again.
