We stayed at the Manor House on Saturday 8th of October 2011 for 1 night. It was my partners birthday and I wanted something special. We were not disappointed. Sue and George who own the Manor House are lovely people and made us feel very welcome indeed, from the moment they greeted us on arrival with Coffee and cake, to when they came out to say goodbye when we left.
They work very hard to ensure guests have everything they need and they go to great lengths to ensure your stay is memorable, which in our case it definitely was. The Manor house is a beautiful house with all the features you would expect. The rooms are spotlessly clean and Sue and George are rightfully very proud of their home. Although it is their home, we were made to feel very welcome and felt part of their home and we did not at any time feel that we were an inconvenience or an intrusion; I cannot praise them enough.
Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and very tasty, served on immaculate crockery and the table was made with a beautiful linen tablecloth and napkins. Free range eggs from their own hens, 4 different types of locally produced bread and fresh fruit, cereals, juices etc. Fantastic!
There is plenty to do in the area and we had booked a murder mystery evening on the Wensleydale railway (Thanks again George for giving us a lift to Leeming Bar station!). We also visited Bedale for lunch and went on the Black Sheep brewery tour at Masham, which is a delightful village.
All in all a fantastic break which Amanda and I fully enjoyed and I cannot fault the Manor House, or indeed Sue and George.
Will we recommend this to friends and family.......absolutely, Will we return?.........You bet!
Thank you Sue and George for your excellent hospitality. See you both again soon.
