We took refuged on a foul winter's day and warmed ourselves by the log fire with a drink at the bar before treating ourselves to Sunday Lunch. There was a lovley, buzzy pre Christmas atmosphere without being too loud.
There was a slight wait to be served, but we were forewarned, but the the fresh rolls with olive oil and balsamic staved off any hunger pains. And we were in no hurry.
I opted for the whole sea bass on a bed of spicy noodlesm which was a good choice ans was my wife's roast beef - full of flavour, thick slices and cooked to perfection - succulent and pinky-brown.
The child's menu is a cut above too - though there had ben a run on the chicken nugget - made to order. The huge chips were prefectly fried, crunchy with lighty and fluffy innards.
The boys managed a pud - profiterols and chocolate fudge cake were devoured with great relish.
This is a terrific family venue. On the day of our visit customers ranged a few months to 70-somethings. The younger were better beave than the latter. Although we didn't venture outside, there's a huge garden (dogs on leads welcomed) with a climbing frame in the far corner, making this a prefect summer destination. There are plans a foot to build a large outdoor barbecue area..
We can't wait to go back
