Hello,
My wife and I came from America (NYC) to be married in Ireland in August 2006. Following a ceremony at St. Colman's parish church in Craughwell, we returned with our guests to St. Cleran's for our reception.
To some extent, words fail to describe the wonderful experience that St. Cleran's staff, led by the incomparable Ken Bergin and Chef Kuma, provided for us that day.
But, let's start before the ceremony. St. Cleran's helped make our slightly madcap dream of a "destination wedding" a reality by helping us sort through our choices for florists, bakeries, car services, hairdressers, makeup artists, musicians, etc., by letting us know who they recommended, but by giving us a full range of choices. Ultimately, we made the decision to follow their recommendations, and were not disappointed at all.
Then, when we arrived before the ceremony, St. Cleran's played host to around 20 of our family and friends who arrived from America, including helping us put on a rehearsal dinner (which we had forgotten to plan for) the night before the wedding, while the dining room was full with another party. A slightly awkward and challenging moment handled with great care.
The reception itself was a bit of magic. The service was sublime, the food flawless, the spirit generous and giving.
And of course, the rooms are gloriously appointed without being too formal, and very comfortable.
In all, nothing short of perfection. To say that my wife and I recommend St. Cleran's is an understatement. We believe that if you can, you simply must enjoy the singular experience St. Cleran's offers. St. Cleran's elegantly embodies the spirit of Céad míle fáilte.
