we were a large group (28 people) mostly over 30s .On site for a walking/social weekend.for our yearly catch up .As we had been before we knew what to expect regarding the rooms which are very clean but basic and the food which is fine .The dining room staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble ,but the bar staff ( i belive some of the owners )were less than happy too be helpful in fact we were so rudely asked to move from the bar downstairs at last orders to the lounge area upstairs although the residents bar was not open and we had to go back down stairs to order any more drinks ,but to be fair the landlord did come up at 12 to ask for final last orders . may i just say we were not being rowdy or causing trouble but the conversation may have been louder than the locals (who were at the bar )were use to .we felt miffed ,so much so the next evenings we took our custom elseware.On paying the final bills we didnt even get a smile !.As such a large group we will not stay where we feel we are not welcome again.

Dated would be the best description. For lovers of wood-chip wallpaper, 1970's carpet & furniture, and saggy old beds, this is the place for you!
