Five nights to explore both sides of Lake Constance and join in a family wedding. Spotless small modern property with very well-assembled room details. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Adjoining Kreuzlingen's ferry dock, and the entrance to Seegarten Park, a no-charge children's paradise. Easy walk from Kreuzlingen Hafen train station, itself just a few minutes' local train ride from the main Kreuzlingen station, just an hour from Zurich Airport. Front desk hugely attentive, finding and quickly forwarding my left-behind eyeglasses. Only one restaurant is nearby; others are 10 minutes' walk into Konstanz, Germany, with a vibrant old-town area and many food and ferry choices, all well-explained by the hotek's front desk.

Room tip: Request to floor overlooking lake.

We stayed one night in this hotel. It was within 15 minutes walk of Constance along the lake. Our room did not have a very good view but we did not stop long enough for that to bother us. The hotel was very modern in style. Our bed was very comfortable and very clean. All the staff were very kind and helpful and the ladies who helped us at breakfast were so bright everyone was in a good mood when they finished. The breakfast was lovely the best we had on our ten day trip. Our bikes were kept in the underground garage and the free water and fruit was very much appreciated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is in a very good location for walking along the lake and crossing the border to Konstanz, Germany. It was a spacious room. We had a lake view room. It was not a great view since there is a restaurant across the street blocking part of the lake. Still, it was very comfortable. We had a king size bed, a desk and a long bench. There was no wifi in the room. One had to go downstairs to the bar area. The sink is outside of the bathroom (Europeans like doing this.). There is a smoky glass wall dividing the bathroom from the rest of the room. So when you turn on the light in the bathroom, your roommate could be bothered by this.
Personnel were very pleasant. We arrived at the hotel by taxi. But the day we checked out, the fellow behind the desk taught us to walk to the banhoff hafen where we took a train to the main train station of Kreuzlingen. From there, we just stood on the same platform for our train to Zurich.
Buffet breakfast was generous, the usual cereals, fruit and cold cuts and cheese. What we did like was the free bottles of water. You picked it up yourself from beside the elevator. They also had a bowl of fruit where guests could help themselves.
Altogether, a very comfortable and pleasant hotel.

Room tip: It is more pleasant to get a room facing the lake.

This hotel was in a good location in the Konstanz area along Lake Konstanz. We had tried to stay in Konstanz, in Germany but ended up here, in Switzerland.

We didn't know when we booked the hotel that there was a big local fair scheduled for that weekend, right across the street from the hotel. This meant several things for us. First, we had easy access to the free fair conveniently close by. Second, our rate was at the higher end of their range of prices because of the festival. Third, there was more traffic getting into and out of the area due to the festival. Fourth, it was pretty loud pretty late. If you're not there the weekend of the festival, you won't be bothered with any of this.

The hotel was very modern and clean. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were what I've found to be typical soft German style pillows. I don't understand this but it's a quirk that's part of traveling the world. The bathroom was really nice. The bathroom had a shower but no bath, which is how I prefer things anyway. The shower was very roomy with the best water pressure I've EVER experienced. One wall of the shower is separated from the bed area with a frosted glass wall. This means that you're going to hear your roommate showering if you're in bed. It shouldn't be a problem. The work desk and chair are very comfortable and functional. There is free internet in the lobby and free ethernet in the room. You're tethered to the desk but it's fast. Our room had a view that barely let us see the lake. We were on the first guest floor. On the second floor, I'd guess you'd get a much better view of the lake.

The bar in the lobby is a nice place to grab a drink. I didn't have dinner in the hotel but they have a restaurant on the first floor and it looked good. Based on the breakfast, with an excellent selection of food that was really good, I'd guess the restaurant is very good too. As other reviews have noted, free water and sparkling water is a really great plus.

The staff was very friendly and, as we're English speakers, extra flexible to meet our needs. They even had a power adapter that let us convert from a standard Central Europe plug to a Swiss outlet.

It's hard to put my finger on what makes me rate this hotel this highly but I just liked it and I feel confident that you will as well.

Room tip: Try to get a room on the top floor. You'll get a better view of the lake.

The Hotel Kreuzlingen am Hafen is located right next to the Bodensee lake. It is very modern and fancy, the shower is fantastic. Also the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is really good and there is a large variety of food offered. Staff is always friendly. If you're a runner, there are lots of possibilities to go running along the lake which is quite nice.
