This was our fourth stay at this hotel. We thoroughly reccommend it to anyone visiting the Tenbury Wells area. Just outside the town itself, it is located on the Oldwood road and the well presented rooms are at the rear in a quiet location with all facilities. The website does not perhaps give sufficient emphasis to the modern nature of it's accommodation. Potential guests could assume that they are to stay on the main black and white building.
The Inn/ hotel offers an excellent restaurant menu at all mealtimes. Most meals can be taken in the genuine
" olde worlde " spacious bar area and beyond. The food is beautifully presented by excellent well trained staff. Mark and Natasha are good attentive, but not intrusive hosts, who have greatly improved the Fountain during the last three years after a period of closure.
One important criticism. Surely at an hotel, there should be someone on hand to receive guests, especially on days when you have prebooked guests arriving ? The Fountain Hotel is closed from about 3pm to 6 pm each day. We arrived at 4 pm and had to wait an hour and a half before we could get into our room. We were told " Oh you should have rung us " but, try as we did, we could find nothing telling us to do that or what the number might be. Regrettably we did not have the hotel's main telephone number with us. Nor, as far as we could see was it dsplayed.
Apart from that point, the Fountain Hotel is an excellent place to stay and the present proprietors are to be complimented on what they have achieved in their time there.
All rooms seem to be quiet, well equipped and with outlooks onto fields/ gardens. Some on the garden...
