Child friendly hotel at lake Velence, with nice view. Staff is very kind. Half pension was nice. Comfortable rooms. Hotel is of 4 stars. In summer it is nice to swim in the lake.

We enjoyed staying there.

Nice location, close to Budapest, accessible by the M7 motorway.
The hotel has spacious indoor spa area with multiple types of saunas and pools. The outdoor spa is also quite large, with nice view to the Velence Lake.
Staff is smiley and friendly.
Food is delicious, however, drinks are expensive.
It's a pity that coffee for the breakfast is sub-average quality, orange juice is mediocre.

Rooms are modern and well furnished. The hotel is clean and tidy.

Room tip: Ask for a room with view to the Lake.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. When we arrived our suite was dirty, we had to ask for a wet cleaning. We have a one year old boy who is on the floor all day, so it has to be clean. Hotel has fitted carpet everywhere and it's very dirty. Dirty spots everywhere. I can't understand why they not use normal floor instead of this fitted carpet (???).Btw our suite was large, we had 2 rooms, bathroom and a separate toilet, the view was nice to the lake. The squash court was great, it has view to the lake too. The food was ok, but nothing special (on the first day the dinner was terrible). One day we'd liked to eat a sandwich and we had to wait almost 1 hour at the bistro (for a sandwich..., its ridiculous. Our son loved the kids corner, it was nice, really. In the garden there was a playground, but it hasn't a baby swing just a normal (they "said" they are a baby friend hotel), it was hard to go with a stroller in the garden (stairs everywhere). The staff was kind and polite. One more thing: they had a lot of highchairs and almost all of them are broken or sleazy. It was too expensive for not being satisfied. I think we won't go back ever.

Let me start with this: Velence Spa is my favourite Hungarian wellness hotel and I stayed here a lot of times, spent here new year' eve parties, holidays, etc.
I will come back again but really hope that the started decreasement in quality will be stopped.
First of all a surprising new thing we met: guests must wear an ugly bracelet chip which cannot be removed from their arms during their stay. Can you imagine people visiting external restaurants in smooth clothing with a purple bracelet (advertising Velence Spa). Sleeping and many other activities are also very uncomfortable in that thing. It was a very bad idea and it should not be the way preventing people from sneaking in or using facilities without paying. Do not punish the honest guests!
Room was still comfortable, bathroom was good size, bed was comfortable. We rented 2 rooms and both had smelly bathrooms, it is either due to unsufficient cleaning or some smell from the sink.
Minibar should have bigger variety of drinks and at least some snacks.
Wifi was terrible, very weak in the rooms ... good around reception.
Waiters, cleaning ladies, bartender lady and receptionist gentlemen were very polite and helpful, the new receptionist ladies should get some smiling and customer service training.
Pools are nice but some areas need renovation, the plastic curtain between indoor and outdoor pools is very ugly from age, same for some plastic pool accesories.
Food in restaurant has nice variety and good quality but table service is still very slow, it is an issue since I first visited the hotel.
Children disco is good to have but content should not be the same for every night as it gets boring for families staying several days. Also please review those adult quiz questions as they are simply wrong (I did not want to shame the kind girls by correcting them but some will do I am sure).
Garden is beautiful, animation is good, beach is great.
So please do not take my criticism as bad intention but as a mark of my wish to keep this hotel my favourite place to stay in Hungary.

We have visited the pools several times with children and they seemed to enjoy it most. The inner and outer bath area can become overcrawded in the weekends. The complex's scale seems to be mistaken conserning the size of the buildings, pools and the lake. The hotel and appartment-house are too big, the pools too small. The outer area is nicely joined to the lake offering a beach ambiente to the pools. They offer several quality wellness services e.g. sauna, massage etc. Best recommendable to families.
