We enjoyed our day out with Brett our driver/tour guide. We travelled from Palm Cove, picked up a few people in Cairns and then we were off to the tablelands. Our first stop, other than a couple of stops to check the view on the way up, was Lake Barrine where we cruised the lake seeing turtles, pythons, ducks and eels and more after a delightful Devonshire tea. Yummy scones! We stopped at the Millaa Millaa Falls where the more intrepid of us took a quick dip in the cold water, and the we were off to the Curtain Fig. Next was the main focus of the trip Paronella Park where we enjoyed a delicious lunch and a guided tour of the park, before being given time to explore on our own. Back on the bus, we were off to The Boulders, which for me, was the highlight of the trip. I enjoyed a very refreshing swim. I really recommend that you take the plunge. The water is fairly cold, but so invigorating! Then we were on our way home, with a short stop at a shop which sells Aboriginal souvenirs where a young man played the didgeridoo for us. We were dropped off at our door after enjoying a terrific day out.
