I went on a one day dive trip to Sail Rock with Eric (the owner of Discovery Dive) and Stella (a new instructor) and had a great time with them. I've been certified for quite a long time and was wary that I would be stuck diving with a group of novices. Eric told me he would make sure that did not happen and he was true to his word. The trip out to Sail Rock too a couple of hours (it was off season and the speedboats were not running every day - so, we went out in large boat - which had a capacity of about 40 divers; but only about 12 divers were on board). Breakfast and lunch were included. There were quite a few other dive boats (with groups of divers with their instructors) at Sail Rock, so we quickly descended below the groups and swam away from them. Visibility was good but not great. Lots of fish - the usual colorful citizens of tropical coral reefs plus groupers, moray eels, trigger fish, scorpion fish, tuna and what might have been the biggest school of barracuda I've ever seen. Water temperature was around 84 degrees at depth, so I left the shorty on board and dove in just my bathing suit and rash guard. Overall, I had a great time. Cons: no diving right off Koh Samui - you have to take a long boat trip to either Sail Rock or Koh Tao. Fairly busy dive sites (at the surface). Pros: Abundant fish, really warm water, Eric and his team are fun, professional and well trained diving companions. Equipment was high quality. Highly recommended.

Art, thanks for the review of Discovery. We're glad that you chose us in the end. We always try to seperate out the skill level of all of our divers and run extra groups to keep the same skill levels together. We're glad you had a good time and I will be even happier when I win our bet concerning the Yankees-Mets
