We stayed in Riverrun cottages - Sage Cottage, from July 20th 2013 for on 1 week. There are 5 of us, two adults and two children (aged 10 and 16) plus the dog, Coco!
We all loved our time in Sage Cottage, tastefully decorated with everything you need!
The gardens are beautifully layed out although shared with other cottages, check to see if tearoom and craft shop are opened, they weren't when we stayed.
It was so relaxing, although there's lots of opportunity to socialize, with Paddy's Bar (owners of Riverrun Cottages) and The Derg Inn, just over the little bridge and across the road. The food in both really tasty. We also dined in the Whiskey Still, although you have to drive it's worth it.
If you don't fancy spending too much but don't want to cook, Roma's in Portumna is fabulous!
The cottages are a short walk to the quay, it's lovely, with picnic area and small playground.
Terryglass has an interesting history, the ancient Churchyard and the Chapel both worth a visit.
the local people were very friendly and Mairead the owner of Riverrun was really pleasant and helpful.
We loved this holiday, hopefully we'll be able to visit again!
