A very relaxed, stylish boutique hotel in a lovely location on a lovely island. Highlight though was the staff - almost without exception incredibly helpful, knd and always with a smile. Don't mistake their laid-back attitude for slackness; it is more that they know you are relaxing and dont want to overwhelm you.
We had a superior double with a large balcony, which if you can afford was a lovely option as the balcony terrace was easily large anough to relax on and overlook the pool below. We felt this much better than the garden rooms, even though cheaper - although if you have children, then the latter may be better.
The only negative were that as a "beach club" it means non-resdients can use the facilities; and they do. So, despite having only 27 rooms and very large grounds it can soon become a little busy...although before midday and after 6pm this is not an issue (and the grounds are large enough to find a quiet space). But, we were there off-season (14-17 June) but understand that it can be VERY busy in July/August - so beware.
Overall, a great place - highly recommended for 3 or 4 days. A wonderful alternative to the self-conscious bling of Ibiza. Hopefully it does not get too popular and so the prices go up and/or the staff lose their friendly attitude and it becomes yet another boutique hotel that just goes through the motions and gets a bit jaded.
Well Done Gecko Beach Club.
