We stayed there for 7 days with HB. Coco de Mer is located far away from another hotels, restaurants. The nearest shop is 20 minutes away. Thanks to that there is always peace and quiet.
We had a superior room. Our terrace was truly great! It had two comfortable chair and sofa with pillows. We were admiring waters of ocean and hearing noises of birds and waves. From there we had four steps to sunbeds and hammocks which were always free. Room was very spacious. It had bathtub in the corner of bedroom. Everything was very clean.
The best food we have ever had in a hotel! Everything was prepared with passion. Grilled fish, noodles, different kinds of meat. These things are prepared in front of your eyes by many cooks. Fresh fruits, delicious salads. Once there was even sushi.
There are three beaches. The first one is that closest to Black Parrot Suites. It is the biggest one. On average there were about 5-8 people. Second one is near superior rooms. There are high palm trees and comfortable hammocks. To the third one (the most beautiful) leads a kind of pier. You can find there characteristic to Seychelles rocks. However there are more beaches around hotel- a little walk and you can find plenty of desert beaches.
Outside hotel/ transport
Near the entrance to the hotel there is a bus stop. Travelling is very cheap- only 5 rupees (scr), given to a driver. You can reach any place on the island.
Very interesting excursion is going to La Digue. You can go there by a ferry and return ticket costs 22 euro. Another place worth seeing is Vallee de Mai. Ticket costs 20 euro. We were also on Anse Lazio beach (there is a free hotel bus). In my opinion it is overrated.
Prices in the hotel
cocktails 95-125 scr
cola, fanta, sprite 33 scr
water 0,75l 30 scr
SeyBrew (beer) 0,28l 50 scr (in a shop SeyBrew costs only 20 scr)
We drank tap water. It was safe according to our guide.
Coco de Mer is an excellent hotel, worth recommending to everyone that would like to have a peaceful retreat. I found only one, very small disadvantage- friendliness of staff is average- it’s ok, but nothing special. Later we spent three nights in Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay on Mahe. It is not comparable, not at all, to Coco de Mer. You MUST GO there!
