I have been meaning to write a review on Mom Tri's Villa Royale, but have not quite gotten down to it. Having been months since my visit to Mom Tri's, it's got to mean something when every memory is still strongly etched in mind!
The absolutely commending service started way before our trip, when we were informed through email that we would be upgraded to the Toey-Talay suite instead of the Beach Wing Suite we had originally booked on Asiarooms.com.
When we arrived, we were presented with a lovely jasmine garland and a very refreshing drink (it was some kind of drink that tasted very much like Ribena - nice anyway).
We were then led to the suite which instantly took our breaths away! We pushed open the wooden doors, and it revealed a HUGE patio overlooking the sea (it was a distance away but you could hear the gentle crashing of waves nonetheless). The hotel staff led us into the suite, which was unbelievably clean and nicely scented awaiting our arrival. There was music playing, nice smelling incense and orchids on the king size bed. Beautiful!
Then comes the shocker - the hotel staff showed us a hidden door which led to our very own private wine cellar within the suite!! It looked exactly like a cave and it was just amazing. My partner and i are more beer guzzlers than wine sippers, so we did not utilize this space - though it was super impressive.
The bathroom was humongous and extremely clean each day. Every evening when we returned there was fresh fruit and our beds would be freshly made with orchids and chocolates. In the afternoon one day, they even brought pineapple tarts to our suite!
The amazing room aside, it was quite a climb up and down to the beach, but totally worth the effort. Although I can foresee how it may not be the best resort if you have difficulty moving around. There is also a private beach within Mom Tri's and it is just a flight of stairs down to the beach - which has the most refreshing and tastiest Coconut Ice Blend ever. The best thing when you're sunburnt and need a cold fix!
Going to the town for dinner is convenient albeit a tiring upslope. But then again, with a suite this beautiful and the beach just a few steps away, it was a small sacrifice.
When checking out, we had a lot of spare time between check out and getting to the airport. So my partner and I went to the beach and got all sweaty and soaked from seawater - not a pretty sight for getting on a plane :) the staff at Mom Tri's were more than happy to bring us to their in house spa, even though we were not going to get a spa treatment. They saved us a room in their spa, with an ensuite bathroom no less, and we could take our time to shower and dress up. This is truly exceptional service!
I would be back again and again and again! I just really hope the standards don't slip over time, and I have faith that it won't - in the near future at least.
