We booked Mom Tri's based on the reviews that we had read, and they are all true to their word. The resort is absolutely stunning ran by professional, polite staff. Whereever you are, you see the ocean. We checked in, and look, there's the ocean. We had dinner at the restaurant, and look, there's the ocean. We open our curtains in our room, and look, there's the ocean! Our room was amazing, complete with a nice seating area and a tub and seperate shower. When we first entered our room, there was nice music playing, and a basket of fruit, a welcome letter, and it even smelled great. Every night there was turn down service - where they left a small snack on your bed (there's a mid afternoon snack that is left for you too) and they would turn on the scented aromatherapy thing that smelled sooo good. We had dinner at the resort the first night. That was quite memorable, eating with the ocean right before our eyes. The food was very good - pricey but hey...you're at a 5 star resort. And mind you, we ate in town the rest of the time, which was very disappointing. We couldn't find one restaurant that satisfied our need for good, authentic, spicy Thai! The pools at Mom Tri's are also very nice. They also have a computer for you to use free of charge with internet. The only downside was that the weather wasn't really cooperating and so there was not a ton of beach time.
Oh and if you are looking for a cancun type vacation (partys, drinking, etc), this is not the beach or resort for you - you might want to go to Patong beach instead. We are non-partyers and this was perfect.
Overall - it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for, considering it's a couple of notches away from paradise and likely the best resort we have ever stayed at.
