The location of the hotel was great and not so great at the same time. It was less than a 2 minute walk to the beach (which admittedly required crossing a busy 4-lane road), yet there wasn't much in terms of bars around the hotel - there were plenty of shops, which were all VERY similar, and a couple of restaurants, but many of the bars/pubs had closed down. I wouldn't recommend a stay in the area unless you're going all-inclusive, or half-board at a minimum. Alcudia is nearby but is quite a hefty walk, or a short bus ride.
The hotel staff were, only the whole, very hard-working and friendly. As far as I remember the room was only cleaned 4 or 5 times a week, but it was done to a high standard by the same maid each time. Some of the bar staff seemed to work from 9 in the morning to 11 at night but were still smiling by the end of the evening. Some of the reception staff did seem reluctant to help sometimes, though.
The room was small but not tiny - compact is probably a better word. There was a compact kitchenette area with a stove and fridge, along with table and chairs, but if there's three people in the room like there was for my stay the pull-out bed under the sofa takes up any remaining space. The TV only had Spanish and German channels but there's plenty of entertainment throughout the day so you'd probably never need it.
Which leads me onto 'Animacion Emma', who probably was the highlight of the hotel. During the day she ran activities such as pistol shooting, water polo and football, whilst 6 nights a week there was bingo, with a quiz 5 nights a week to take part in. Emma was genuinely friendly and would come up and talk to you, whether adult or young person, and on many evenings sat with a group of us or other people to chat. 2 nights a week there was a performance act, which varied in quality, and I believe there was also a trip to the local ranch and a party bus to Magalluf which ran probably at least 1 once a week.
The pool was fairly small for the size of the hotel, and had a strange structure 80s style structure over it, but it seemed clean and had a shallow pool for kids too. Many of the sunbeds were slightly broken (i.e. armrests snapped off), one of the showers was broken and there was a corner by the pool which was unclean with animal mess, but these really were minor problems.
