We spent 3 nights there for a mini-moon a week after our wedding. Sala Phuket fits for a magazine cover, but not for actual stay! We appreciated the friendliness of the staffs who smiled and made an un-intrusive effort to help all the time, but sadly not other features. At first, we booked a pool villa, but it turned out to be really cramped and when we learned that there's a high chance to shower or use the toilet under the rain, we decided to move to a duplex which boasts spacious space and great sun light. The staffs were prompt in arranging the upgrade, but they weren't thorough enough. We found the terrace, the patio and the cushioned littered with gecko's poo and spider web....not a pleasant sight at all. Plus, every morning, when we were about to use the basin, we'd have to wash dead bugs off first. The door that separate indoor and outdoor areas are not practical. There's no handle, but I had to use literally my fingertips to drag it one side. I gave up after a couple of attempts and always asked my husband to give a hand. Another serious issue was the flies at the restaurant. Every two minutes, we were forced to stop midway and wave our hands desperately to chase away those restless flies off breakfast, but it was in vein. The hotel claims they tried everything to deal with the problems, but clearly that doesn't do. As for the spa, we were impressed with the interior, but the treatment was merely average not as it was exaggerated in some travel magazines. All in all, the staffs were helpful and smiley, but there are many other issues that are worth considering.

I stayed here in April 09 for 8 nights for my honeymoon. This place is ideal for honeymooners looking for seclusion and privacy and an intimate place, its ABSOLUTELY beautiful, the grounds are beautiful as are the villas. We stayed in a garden pool villa and it looks exactly as it does on the website, its lovely. You have a key as opposed to a card to enter your villa. We stayed on bed and breakfast and the breakfast was good but not as much of a variety as some other 5* hotels...we have particular dietry requirements as when it comes to meat we only eat halal meat, so we used to go into town to eat, however we were put in touch with the head Chef Jan who was great, he gave us a tour of the kitchen and informed us that all of the meat at the hotel is actually halal (as is almost all the meat coming into Phuket) - this is useful to know for Muslims with the same requirements, but this is only the case in Phuket - still always best to double check. Anyway the Chef told us we could tell him each day whatever we wanted for dinner and he would make it for us - and he did, which was nice, however we still went out to eat on most days just for the fun of it...they have dvd players in-room too which is good, quality slippers, and a large beachbag, sun hat and beach mat! you dont need any of your own stuff!

BEACH: We wern't happy with the beach at all. Its nice that its a private beach and not full of sun loungers, however as its a national park, they are not allowed to erect any lights on the beach or stalls so its completely lifeless and dead, and pitch dark after dark. So we didnt enjoy the beach. We went to Dusit Thani's beach (about 15mins drive away) which was lovely with white sand, we went there to do jet skiing.

LOCATION: We knew the hotel was secluded but it was a bit too out of the way, 45mins drive from Patong, it was tucked away behind some quiet roads with no lights outside whatsoever. No restuarants/shops nearby at all. Anantara resort and Marriott were next door though. We went into patong almost everyday despite the 45min drive because we need some action in the evenings and like to eat out. The hotel taxis are very expensive, charging 900Baht each way, thats about £16 each way, but we managed to get free rides after speaking to the hotel manager Anthony, who was very helpful. We were initially told the hotel had restuarants in walking distance but found when we got there that they didnt which is why we had to go into patong to eat, which is why we got free rides, as we were looking to move somehwere else because of this.

Staff were great, just a bit slow at times, their service could be better. We once waited for out breakfast for 30mins which was terrible, but only happed once, after a complaint to the manager that breakfast was sent to our room (which again took a while) but was free for us!
Overall its a lovely place, and if your happy to be 45mins away from any life, then definitly stay here! Villas are just amazing!

From the airport pickup by Sala Phuket you feel special. We were welcomed in a open air reception with a drink, then taken to our pool villa. You feel like your in a special place. I am sure i said WOW a few times. Our room was great. The bathroom and shower is outside made it fun going at 2 am. I looked up and saw the clear sky with all the stars was another WOW moment. Yes there are Geckos we had about 5 you get used to them after the first night. They dont bother you, they like bugs. The pools were amazing really cool design. The beach had a red flag the waves were really nice we would let them splash us. You feel how remote it is. Next door there are some ladies who massage you for 400 baht the hotel spa is not that pricey. They had a BBQ night with a jazz band it was great there food is exellent, even for lunch the chicken sandwich was amazing. Breakfast is great full English. I will stay here again and also try there Sala Samui resort. Best staff ever we miss them all.

My Wife and I stayed here for 10 nights from 29 Aug 2009 in a SALA pool villa. We had previously stayed at the original Sala Samui resort some time ago and were tempted by the remoteness and quieter advertised Sala Phuket. The resort has the same eager, friendly and smiling staff who really seem to love thier jobs and want you to have a great experience -I can't say enough about them. After a few days they treated us like old and valuable friends. The Pool Villa was fantastic, reg cleaned and nicely arranged every night with some special touch - local fruit drink, flowers etc. The main resort pools x 2 (forever edged) are extensive, clean and are real works art with many differing options for swiming, wading, spa etc within. The breakfasts at the restaurant are superb - lots of international choices and leave you wondering about the need for lunch if you dine later in the morning (have before 11am). Peaceful and not open to vendors, Sala Phuket is a real gem if you just want to escape and recharge, maybe walk or just catch up on a book. The front desk staff assisted in day trips, for us, one via speed boat to Phi Phi islands, and though perhaps a little more expensive then you could find - I can't fault the arrangements with the charter company - very special day - no problems. They have some cultural nights, BBQ nights and if you dont wish to go far these are very pleasant and relaxed affairs run from the Restaurant. I can also recommned the Thai Cooking class on thursdays - an adventure and a pleasant meal followed gazing out at the Andaman sea. The shellfish meals in the restaurant were not up to my expectations, but we are spoiled here in Oz. Wine is very expensive. We had a couples massage within the purpose built spa - not as cheap as the 'on the beach' massages, but very exquisite and special. I can't speak highly enough of this resort, it seemed as if we were the only couple there (we were'nt) - just what we needed to come back and face the daily grind with renewed vigour!

Well first night in sala phuket was not as expected although we were amazingly welcomed. when we first entered our pool villa it was same as what we saw on the internet but didnt have a clue about the lizards and the quantity of them so we were a bit shocked when we saw them on the shower wall at night but the hotel staff did their best to make us comfortable, the next days we got used to them as they only appear at night and dont come near to you...
what was remarkable about this hotel their service and hospitality , they clean the room almost three times a day and ensure that everything around you is exactly how you want or even more...
we really enjoyed our stay we felt like celebrity, they really know how to treat honeymooners.
