We spent 3 nights there for a mini-moon a week after our wedding. Sala Phuket fits for a magazine cover, but not for actual stay! We appreciated the friendliness of the staffs who smiled and made an un-intrusive effort to help all the time, but sadly not other features. At first, we booked a pool villa, but it turned out to be really cramped and when we learned that there's a high chance to shower or use the toilet under the rain, we decided to move to a duplex which boasts spacious space and great sun light. The staffs were prompt in arranging the upgrade, but they weren't thorough enough. We found the terrace, the patio and the cushioned littered with gecko's poo and spider web....not a pleasant sight at all. Plus, every morning, when we were about to use the basin, we'd have to wash dead bugs off first. The door that separate indoor and outdoor areas are not practical. There's no handle, but I had to use literally my fingertips to drag it one side. I gave up after a couple of attempts and always asked my husband to give a hand. Another serious issue was the flies at the restaurant. Every two minutes, we were forced to stop midway and wave our hands desperately to chase away those restless flies off breakfast, but it was in vein. The hotel claims they tried everything to deal with the problems, but clearly that doesn't do. As for the spa, we were impressed with the interior, but the treatment was merely average not as it was exaggerated in some travel magazines. All in all, the staffs were helpful and smiley, but there are many other issues that are worth considering.
