We stayed twice at Kismet both at the beginning and end of our time in Mirissa. There are two spacious rooms one first floor (bigger and more private balcony) and one ground floor, with both a double and single bed. The Kismet Rest Guesthouse is run by Devika and her two sons who despite the extreme damage done to their home in the Tsunami of 2004 they work hard to welcome you in the separate building housing the guest rooms. The price is much reduced from those on the beach and yet it is a very short walk to the beach. The rooms are basic but big and were clean and even had hot water in the bathrooms which is not that common in Mirissa. Evening meal of Rice and Curry in traditional style can be made to order, whilst there are also lots of places on the beach to eat with varied menus including pizza if you get a little tired of Rice and Curry. There is also a small clothes shop attached selling some garments made by Devika. There are lovely gardens at the front of the guesthouse and breakfast can be there or on terrace. Great hospitality.
