My husband and I traveled to Petit St. Vincent for our honeymoon in May of 2009. It is really difficult to capture in words just how amazing our experience was, but I will try. From our very first interaction with Julie in the Florida office, the service they provided was top notch, better than anything we have experienced to date. We heard about PSV in a travel magazine, and followed up by visiting their website. It was then that we knew there was no other place we wanted to go to for our honeymoon. We didn’t make it there until two years later, but it was well worth the wait. We had very high expectations, and what we experienced was above and beyond those expectations. They leave no stone unturned to make sure you have the best possible experience on the island. They really think of everything. We often wanted to pinch ourselves to make sure we weren’t dreaming. It’s hard to believe that a place like this exists. It's a relaxing, remote, exquisite paradise.

The cottages are stunning, comfortable and luxurious, and each on their own stretch of private beach or own part of a cliff. There is so much vegetation around them that you can spend the entire time with the doors wide open, feeling the breeze from the ocean and hearing the ocean waves and all of the other sounds that come from paradise. You really don’t have to see another guest while you are there, unless you chose to do so. There is no air conditioning, but it’s absolutely not necessary with the consistent winds. There are no phones, tvs, or internet in the rooms. In our opinion it is such a luxury to be away from these things that consume people’s day to day lives when they are not on vacation. You raise one flag if you need anything and another if you want privacy. The system somehow works flawlessly. Anytime we needed anything, we got it.

We are both vegetarians, and were a little hesitant about what type of food we might get when they told us they always prepared a vegetarian option for each meal. Typically when we travel we get the usual pasta and vegetables, which definitely gets old. The food there was out of this world, Chef Trevor outdid himself every time. It was some of the most delicious food we have ever eaten. We stuffed ourselves silly at every meal because it was just too delicious to do anything but that.

We asked what time it was a couple of times and people just looked at us a little strangely and said, “well I guess it’s about – o’clock”. It is such a different kind of lifestyle down there. You get up with the sun and the birds, you eat when you are hungry, and you go to bed with the moon. It was so relaxing, peaceful and private.

Everyone that works there is friendly, attentive and helpful, but mind their own business when you do not need anything. My husband realized he forgot his prescription soon after we arrived, and the office staff worked hard to find a pharmacy that could fill the script on one of the nearby islands and had it couriered over by boat and delivered to our room. I have never been to a hotel that would take the time to offer this kind of service.

If you do want some adventure, there is some of the best snorkeling we have seen right off the beach at PSV. They have people who will teach you to sail their hobie cats, which is a ton of fun. Or you can book scuba diving or sailing tours and a myriad of other things at the front office.

They even went above and beyond during check out and provided us with the Barbados dollars we would need to get through the airport, knowing we probably would not have it on us. The attention to detail was amazing, and it really allowed for a carefree vacation. They sent us off with a packed lunch and waters on a boat, and my husband and I were very sad to leave. We spent some time in Barbados on the way back, which was quite disappointing in comparison, and realized that nothing could compare to PSV.

We highly recommend this place for people looking for a remote, private, romantic experience in paradise who are not afraid to go without some of the things they rely on in their day to day lives. And also people who consider being bored a luxury, because in the craziness of today’s world it truly is. Petit St. Vincent is amazing, and we will be back one of these days. A piece of heaven here on earth!

All of the wonderful things that other reviewers have said about this unique island are true! We stayed in cabin #1 on the bluff and it was truly amazing. The views, staff, and food were all top notch! I am a vegetarian and never had trouble finding something delicious to eat. The flag system always worked well for us, as it never took longer than 15 minutes for our request to be picked up. The cookies served with afternoon tea delivery were delicious. Also, unlike other reviews, we did not experience any issues with insect bites. We did, however, learn how important strong sunscreen is! We found the best snorkeling on the island was off of the jetty by the beach cabins. Sailing on the Jambalaya with Jeff to the Tabago Cayes is a must do. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The only down side for us was the difficulty in getting to the island, but that is probably also one of its greatest assets!

My wife and I wanted to honeymoon in a place that was away from it all, and that is exactly what we got! Let me start by saying the staff is second to none, everyone on the island was so friendly; from the managers Charlie and Christie to the waitstaff Dale/James/Roland and many others. The island itself is surrounded by reefs, great for snorkeling and white sand beaches. The cottages are wonderful, although it can get a little warm if there is no ocean breeze. There are certainly bugs on the island, and we got a few bug bites, but if you use bug spray you should be all set. The food is simply amazing, we never had one meal we didn't enjoy. The nice difference between this and your standard all inclusive is that there is not huge buffetts with 100 different choices and food that goes to waste. Breakfast is made to order, lunch has a buffett with delicious options and also food made to order and dinner is fantastic with 4-5 entree choices every night. Another thing that impressed me about PSV was that the clientele seemed to be a lot of repeat visitors which says plenty about a place that is not the easy to get to. PSV is not inexpensive, but if you are looking for a place to relax away from T.V., newspapers and the outside world, this is a great place to hide.

We just returned from 10 days and had an awesome time. We were there in 2007 and the island is better than before.
Our journey started with drink on the dock then a golf cart (Sorta) ride to a cottage high on the hill. Privacy was our goal this time as last we were on the beach and they were a little open to people walking on the beach.

We threw our luggage in the room and went for a walk around the island The whole island can be walked in 45 minutes or so. The grounds are beautiful. We made it back to the room had a drink rested on the deck then headed to dinner. Again the food was great. 4 choices seafood, chicken, beef or vegetarian . Then a wonderful walk back to the cottage under the stars.
We are both exercise people and the first thing in the morning a hike around the island and up the hill. What a view. the off to the beach. With hardly anyone on the beach Debbie slipped into her thong and I changed into my speedo. I could not believe how few people were on the beach.
Lunch is served buffet style in the dining pavilion or you can have food delivered to the beach but we went to the pavillion for lunch as a break from the sun. Lunch was perfect a great view, food in the wood oven cold food at the buffet and no rush to get you in or out.
We headed back to the beach for a few afternoon hours We had ordered ice tea for 4:00 in our room. As we returned to our beach chairs again no one was on the beach except for a couple about 4 thatched huts away.
Much to Debbie's concern I nude sunbathed the afternoon away on the beach. Around 3:30 we dressed and headed back to the cottage where ice tea and cookies awaited us.
We repeated this every day for 10 days. The relaxation and seclusion is the best. Nothing to think about worry about or care about. Except what we were having for lunch or dinner.
We found if you follow the beach after the last thatch hut the water become very calm and shallow with small pools forming in the coral. We spent several afternoon hours sitting in these pools And again with no one around I rested nude with a cigar while Deb and I talked the hour away. The worst part was having to dress to walk back to the cottage.

My wife and I have experienced the entire Caribbean and when we found PSV some 20 years ago, we have been going back almost every year. It's time consuming to get to and it offers very little in the way of entertainment and the food is ok, not great... not bad, but simply ok. The accomodations are nice, not great, not bad, but nice and comfortable. The service is good, not great but good.

We have the opportunity to visit many other places around the world, the last was the Maldives in 2008, but yet we return to PSV .... note my comments above are not that sterling. The reason is that you're truly welcomed on the island, not because you're paying, but you're treated as a guest. There is no crowd, the beaches are yours, the water is to "die for" the reefs are a dream and you are left alone to claim ownership of the domain.

If you need to shop, don't go. If you need to play golf, don't go. If you need the social life, don't go. If you wish solitude, if you wish to meet some of the most interesting people in the world, if you wish to be pampered without indulgence, then you really must go. That said, go with someone you wish to grow the relationship with, fore that person is who you will depend on for social interactions, with occassional interfacement with others who are there for the same reason you are.
