Had lunch here. Pub had just been refurbished, so fresh, clean and welcoming. The Landlady is helpful, charming and full of smiles - a new chef and menu all make this an easy place to recommend. Check out the Scandinavian influence on the bar menu for a light, fresh approach that is a change from the usual pub fare! The crispy twice cooked chunky fries get my vote too! Then opted for a fresh baked scone with jam and cream - fluffy and still warm.

I had a lunchtime meal at the Unicorn. Having been there before I was taken aback with the new decor which provides a really nice fresh atmosphere. The service matched with a can do attitude and the people there seemed to take real pride in what they did. My friend and I had the cured salmon with dill and caperberry open sandwich which had a real scandinavian feel. This was accompanied by some fantastic fries, hand cut and triple cooked. I got the impression that it was under new ownership and if they continue like this it'll be one to keep going back to.
