The lodge itself is just fine- clean, nice staff, and spacious rooms (although it can get really cold in the winter!). There are no TVs in the room, so be prepared to entertain yourself. What is so great about the Lodge is its location. It is right in the middle of the park, near the start of a few of the hiking trails. It was amazing to stay in the park, right in the middle of all the beautiful scenery you came to see. We went during the winter and the park was deserted. It was cold, but we had the park to ourselves. Some of the trails were closed, but once you bundled up, it was worth it.

We spent two nights here – one night in a cabin, and one night in the motel-style lodge itself. Both were disappointing for different reasons. First, the cabin was old and not insulated. So we had to rely on a gas fireplace that kept going out, as well as a room heater that blew cold air. As for the shower, the water wasn’t even lukewarm. In fact, it was so cold that we didn’t bathe in the morning. We later found out that four cabins share one hot-water heater, so the first person to use the shower will exhaust the supply of hot water. We were told it takes about a half hour for the water to get warm again.

We were able to move from that horrible cabin to the motel-style lodge on the grounds. Though much more clean and comfortable and the shower more in line with what one would expect, it lacked all other amenities: like the cabin, there was no TV, no fridge, no microwave. If this were a lodge for monks, that might be fine, but in the evenings, it would have been nice to have those amenities, especially at the prices we paid.

We loved Zion Park itself, but the lodge accommodations left something to be desired. We will visit again, but will stay elsewhere.

We've been to nearly 15 National Parks in 1 year, and in many Parks we've stayed at the concessioner provided lodging inside the park (eg: ARAMARK at Shenandoah, and Delaware North Companies at Sequoia). Zion Lodge, managed by Xanterra, was by far the worst and ironically the most expensive accomodation. We paid a $166 per night for a king size room. Rooms were plain, no coffee, no refrigirator, no TV, hot water in the showers takes 10 minutes to come (funny, they have "save water" reminders everywhere), no free breakfast, no internet, dirty patios, and toilets with human hair. All facilities such as the coffee bar close early.

I recommend that you book a nice Best Western in Springdale, just 5 minutes drive from the entrance where they have all the facilities mentioned above at only $70.08 per night!

I gave this hotel a 4 rating, just because of the averageness of the hotel room. Rooms were okay, plain, old motel room. I stayed in an actual ROOM mind you, not a cabin, really wanted the cabin. Clean, simple rooms. If you want a swank place, with service and huge amenities, this is not it. If you are here to hike, be outside, and wakeup with one of the most beautiful parks in America and (arguably, the world) outside your door, this is THE place... bar none.

Stayed in the cabins this time, which were comfortable and clean. Great to sit out on the porch and watch the sun and shadow change on the canyon walls.

Meal at the lodge was good as was the service. Brought in for other nights.

It is all about the location and that is fantastic. Easy to start hikes early from. Although the shuttle to Springdale is excellent.

Angel's landing was closed when we were there and so hiked observation point for the first time. It was amazing, a wonderful varied walk and view at the end. We saw Condors!
