We stayed in one of the cabins at Zion Lodge for an overnight on the way to Arizona and wished we had booked for longer. The setting is idyllic in the heart of the red canyons - very peaceful and beautiful. Bird and animal life all around - even deer peacefully grazing nearby.
The cabins were basic but clean and comfortable with all essentials. The highlight was an electrically operated log fire in the cabin which made it very warm and cozy on a cool evening. The cabins are all situated within a short stroll to the main lodge where there is a shop, restaurant, and main reception. On certain evening the guides from the National Park give very informative talks about the Zion Park area. A shuttle bus runs regularly into the canyons stopping at various points for walkers.
A pleasant surprise was the excellence of the food in the restaurant. A good choice from the menu and beautifully prepared and presented meals for a reasonable price. Both dinner and breakfast were first class.
All staff were very helpful and friendly and we shall certainly return again - next time for longer.
