I stayed at the Manor House hotel for one night. We had hoped to stay two nights but the hotel was full on the Saturday night. I'm so glad!
The location of the hotel is lovely. By that I mean the lakes and surrounding countryside . However the hotel has not made the most of its location . The view from every window is spoilt because cars are parked all around the hotel. Little effort has been made to make the most of the location (no little seated areas near the lake etc)
The house is large and impressive as you drive up to it, but unfortunately I found it hard to be impressed with anything else after that. The service was poor, even though the hotel seemed very quiet. I struggled in the door with three bags and the porter stood and watched me without offering to help!
There is no wifi in this hotel. They tell you the wifi is in the common areas but it really isn't. When we asked about it the responses we got made it obvious that it wasn't a priority and that it rarely (if ever) worked. It was as if we were asking for some specialist service. There was no apology from anyone just a offer that we could use the computer in the leisure centre to check e mails !!?
While we were sitting trying to get on line (about one hour) we noticed that all the staff (including the manager) walked past two dirty coffee cups at the next table without clearing them up.
The room we had was large with a big bed and a good tv screen. However the bed was hard and uncomfortable. There was a Tv in the bathroom which was a great novelty, however the water in the bath taps was lukewarm so I was unable to enjoy the experience. The towels and bathrobe provided were old and worn.
The biggest disappointment was the leisure area. I can only describe it as how my local council pool used to be run in the eighties! Run down, broken tiles, dirty tired old floor tiles, cold steam room and sauna, plastic chairs, surly teenagers n track suits, grubby small towels, I had hoped to spend the morning relaxing here but I could only stay 10 minutes, the pool was too small for a good swim, and too grubby to relax. Again the view out the window was of a car park!
We had dinner in the cellar bar. The service was slow and the plates were cold So our food went Luke warm pretty quick. There was no entertainment apart from two large tv screens showing boxing.
The breakfast was good (although the service was hit and miss). We were up early so had a good seat (yet again had to look over the car park to see the view! )
All in all the hotel had the feel of an up market residential home for the elderly. All facilities arranged for easy access rather than good design or comfort.
I don't mind staying places that are not perfect, I regularly go camping and stay in hostels. However for the prices charged here I expect better standard of facilities and better service. This hotel is not 4 star and I won be coming back n a hurry!

I was disappointed to read your review of Manor House Country Hotel. We would have liked the opportunity to discuss your experience with you but you did not complete a comment card or raise any of the issues stated in your review during your stay.
In your review you mention the ‘TV in your bathroom’ all Executive Rooms, Junior and Premier Suite Bedrooms have Wall Tile TV’s in the bathrooms, and all these room types have been recently refurbished. All these Room types have Kaymed, King Koil Club Pocket Pillow Top Beds. Kaymed has over a century's expertise at the forefront of sleep technology. Kaymed not only designs specialty sleep products, but also manufactures the innovative materials which guarantee a perfect night's sleep. Kaymed has won numerous awards and accolades for its state of the art products and designs. I was therefore amazed to read you found your bed ‘hard and uncomfortable’.
The superb views are one of the many comments from our guests so I was again surprised to read that we were not impressed with the views of Lower Lough Erne and the Fermanagh countryside. The complimentary car parking is on a lower level and has a minimum impact on the views.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all public areas since November 2011 and is a key service we offer to our guests which they avail of regularly. I can only assume your issues connecting to the internet where in relation to your computer settings or a network connection on the date in question.
Guests have complimentary access to the Leisure Centre which includes a 20 Metre swimming pool which you have described as ‘too small for a good swim’; however the pool size is significantly longer than most hotel pools.
From your comments you allude to staying on a Friday night, Weekend entertainment by a Live Band is provided in the Cellar Door on Friday and Saturday Evenings and there are three Plasma Televisions in different areas of the Bar however your review states that ‘there was no entertainment’.
You did not raise any of your comments about the Food or Service in the Cellar Door during your meal.
I look forward to you contacting the Hotel directly to discuss your experience but I hope the above clarifies the points raised in your review.
