Our stay at Paradera Park Apartments (PPA) was absolutely fantastic. We stayed from April 30th through May 7th. The room was huge with a kitchen and patio. Debby was totally helpful in pointing out all the best places to eat, drink, and play. Because PPA is located inland, you should rent a car to explore the rest of the island. Debby will help you out with that too. We dined at the fine restaurants along the hotel areas and bought food at the nearest supermarket and cooked for ourselves. You can also book activities such as scuba diving, horseback riding, and sailing at the reception too. The property itself is fantastic. It's true that it is an oasis because against the desert backdrop, PPA has the most beautiful plants and trees. The housekeeping crew was great as well. I will definitely book again.

It's true - what everyone else is saying. It is a little bit of paradise. If you're the kind that wants to explore on your own and not be stuck in an AI resort, this is the perfect "base" to explore Aruba. We rented a jeep and went everywhere from the natural pool to little beaches we found off the main roads and simply drove onto.
We were there in early March 2008 with two teenage daughters and had a great time the four of us exploring the island in our jeep.
Roadside grills are great for local food and then you can also go high end like Flying Fishbones.
Deby and Henk are wonderful hosts and great resource for island knowledge.
My only regret is having to write a positive review for PP and spreading the word and only making it more popular and probably harder to book the next time.

We stayed from April 9th to April 20th for 10 of the most relaxing, restful, peaceful and beautiful days in a long time. We have been to Aruba 3 times before and never had such a great time. The owners are beyond words-very happy and friendly. When you need to find local jewerly- do not shop anywhere else, just shop with Debi for her one of a kind piece. I have had so many compliments on mine. This was the first time we went exploring and went to almost every beach because of the beach pack. There is a walkpath is not far from the apartments and was totally enjoyable early in the morning. Always came back to Luz smiling and cleaning. Hopefully you will stay on the first floor and have the most adorable little beagle visit you if you want her to-we totally enjoyed her. We are alreday looking at airline tickets for next April.

We visited Aruba last week. Paradera hotel is nice and our room was very clean and quiet. Debby and Ingrid are awesome! The only problem we had was car rental place the hotel made the reservation for our jeep. "Value Car Rental" . DO NOT GO THERE! Not very friendly people. We took dirty Jeep (the only one available!!!). The car's tires were three different kinds, not one set. The extra wheel's screws were tighten by hand!!! Tools were in greasy glove compartment. Weak brakes. Dirty seats and belts.
Go to Paradera hotel, but rent your car at chain plaices, not family owned busineses.

We stayed at Paradera Park for 5 nights late March. We arrived later than expected due to airport delays and Ingrid was more than happy to spend the time going over maps and giving us various tips. It was just perfect for us, since we prefer boutique hotels. It is situated in a residential area on a dead end street, and it is conveniently located to beaches and downtown area. However, you do need to rent a car.

This is an owner-occupied hotel. The grounds are meticulously kept. Although the island itself isn't very green, Paradera has truly made a "tropical oasis" with its lush gardens (flowering shrubs and plants are everywhere). Cabanas, hammocks and numerous palm trees add to the tropical ambiance.

We rented Unit 105 which was an end unit that was quite spacious and comfortable, and had an outside sitting area. Although the shower is on the small side, it was not an issue for us. The complimentary beach chairs, cooler and beach towels is a very nice touch. It was very quiet and peaceful. Luz, the housekeeper, was absolutely lovely and keeping the units and grounds spotless seems to be her #1 priority.

Some people have complained about mosquitoes. Believe me, I hate mosquitoes. With the constant trade winds we did not experience as many as we have on other islands. You always have the option of turning on the a/c and ceiling fan.

In terms of negatives, I would just say that one of the mattresses in our unit seemed to be uncomfortable. Since we had a unit with 3 singles (2 of which were together to make a double), I switched them around and that did the trick.

This was our first visit to Aruba and to Paradera Park...and we will be reserving a room for next year. Their website states "Our aim is to maintain our resort, gardens and Apartments in a clean and excellent condition offering high quality accommodation and facilities to our guests at affordable prices" -- kudos go out to Ingrid, Hank and Deb! Well done!!!

Tips: Remember to pack packets of sugar and pick up coffee and cream for the morning. We highly recommend Papiamento Restaurant - great food, ambiance and service. Boca Catalina and Arashi beach had great snorkeling.
