This is a public beach that has clean water and lots of facilities. The sand doesn't really look pink, don't get fooled like a tourist. There are some pink speckles here and there but please!!!! It looks pink when the water wets it a little so it comes out looking pink in pictures. We were disappointed with the color claims! Beyond that tourist trappy speculation, the beach is gorgeous and has showers, changing stations, bathrooms and a little place to pick up food, basically everything you need. You can get there by bus (#7) which is a scenic route and highly recommended. You need to be a bit in shape because there is a hill you must climb but if you take your time, it's definitely worth the little work out. The water was warm in the beginning of May and the sand feels soft and they keep the beach clean (so please respect that)! It was definitely our favorite beach and I'm sure gets some crowds on the weekends but during the week it was empty. Occasionally there are the Portuguese Man of War that wash in (not many) but keep your eyes out and if you go to Bermuda - definitely pack your goggles. Not only will you see down to your feet the water is so clean but you can spot some beautiful fish. This is the beach we hit over and over and couldn't get enough.
