Rented Royal Villa end July/August 07 . Fantastic accommodation, location etc . Negotiated some rounds of golf within price. The Royal Villas are newer and better than some of the slightly older and smaller accomodation. Villa private pools not large but more than a plunge pool and serve the purpose. There are bigger communal pools which nobody uses!

Maid service superb but does depend on who you get . Totally safe very friendly and outstanding service. No resturant in the evening at the club so you need to go out .

You need car hire -book this direct and collect from airport or if you have loads of stuff ( eg golf clubs) the club will sort out local taxis at sensible price to/from airport and get hire car delivered to the villa . Buggy hire good fun ,particularly allowing under 21s to get about around the site.

Holetown great resort/centre. Beach at Colony Club good but not the absolute best and beach furniture a bit tired. But that's being picky.

Go watersking with Ron Griffith-he's the best -don't use the beach hotel's water sports

Book early and direct with the club and book flights early and it is very good value for the high quality provided.

Weather good, inevitably some rain every day and a few cloudy days but that's what you get in the tropics in August. We still all came back tanned and it is infinitely preferable to 35C in Southern Spain!

Excellent 2 week stay at a 3 bed Villa (Cassia Heights 22), great accomodation, with fantastic daily house keeping service (thanks Jacqui). Well appointed, ideal for families that don't want to experience the islands expensive restaurants every night.
Air Con bedrooms a real delight.
Accomodation includes use of all Royal Westmoreland facilities, Pool, Spa, Gym, Golf, Tennis, Pool access at Colony Club.
As a villa renter you get reduced golf rates at this great R.Trent Jones Jr designed course. (US$105 per round, inc cart)
Golf at Sandy Lane Country Club US$185 per round, when compared to The Green Monkey US$2000 per round, a real bargain.
Well located for Holetown 2k, supermarket and great restaurants.
Would throughly recomend, will definitely be going back.

We stayed in a beautiful villa at Forest Hills on the Royal Westmoreland Estate. Villa was just fantastic. We visited in early March 07 and it was very quiet. There was a communal pool close to our villa which was deserted, it was great! We also enjoyed having lunch in the restaurant. We hired a golf buggy and toured the golf course and managed to see the monkeys that visit the 9th hole! We are not golfers but enjoyed staying at this resort. Its very safe and spotless everywhere. We took the shuttle to the Colony Club, nice to have the flexibilty of the beach option. It was a nice beach and we hired a jet ski which was fun. Even though the Colony Club is a 4* hotel I was not that impressed with it and was glad to get back to the Royal Westmoreland Estate. We went to the supermarket in Holetown for food shopping, its quite expensive so be careful! We ate out at The Tides and Lonestar. Both very nice but preferred The Tides, it was a magical setting and very romantic, just wonderful as on the beach. I am very fussy when it comes to choosing a resort to stay in, but I was very pleased with this resort and we all had a wonderful holiday. I am very tempted to go back !
We combined a week at Royal Westmoreland with a week on the Royal Clipper which sails from Barbados. Royal Clipper is worth every penny too!
We hired a car through Stoutes Car Rental and can recommend them. No hesitatations in recommending Royal Westmoreland.

“Wonderful Place”

We stayed in a 3 bedroomed Royal villa with own pool. It was extremly well equiped and with the included daily maid service to clean, tidy,do laundry etc good value. We had no complaints at all.
A car is really necessary as it is a few minutes drive down to Holetown. We were not troubled by building work, but some new properties are being built in front of some of these villas,so ask for an update when you book.
We booked direct with Royal Westermoreland in the UK and they had special rates for 2 people occupying a villa. This was cheaper than staying in many of the 5* properties on the beach, and with the villa being 2500 square feet,a much more spacious alternative if you do not require room service etc.
Barbadis is wonderful and we will certainly return to the island and Royal Villas.

My family (two girls aged 11 and 8) my husband (very keen golfer) and I visited this resort on 15th October for 10nights. We also went with some friends with two very young children (1 and 3) and shared a super 4 bedroom deluxe villa on the 16th fairway.
The weather was good and the villa was fantastic. There was 9 of us all together and we all had our own bathroom and privacy. Good aircon and lovely touches such as bathrobes, creams and shampoos.
We loved the maid service and Catherine our maid was so sweet and helpful. She would prepare lunch daily, clean (and boy were we messy!) and wash and iron for us daily.
The pool was cleaned regularly and we spent much of our time chilling around our own pool.
We were a little exposed to the golfers on the green but that proved great delight to the kids when their daddy's passed by dailey. My husband loved the golf and found the course quite tricky on the long par 3's (plays off 16). We used the main pool area which was quite quiet but the pool was a good size for exercise swimming!
I found the cost of the yoga and airobics, pilatis far to high to warrent taking exercise seriously on holiday (so I didnt!)
YOu need to hire a car to go to the supermarket which was well stocked with UK brands.
We used Crystal Cove beach and I was glad we hadnt stayed there...the beach was minimal and very poor compared to the likes of Almond Beach, Crane Beach.
We ate out on several occasions

Tides: Just south of the hotel, 5 mins drive. Lovely setting and restaurant, on a wooden deck right on the water, with trees supporting the deck. Great service=. Lovely meal beautifully presented and great with the children (scrummy milkshakes and smoothies served in fishy plastic glasses for the children)

Calabazza: South of Sandy Lane outside Holetown. Again, lovely setting and uncovered overhead when dry Provbly the one I least favoured . Portions quite large I found.

Lone Star... again beautiful this one is RIGHT on the beach and the kids can play on the sand. The waiters are dressed in overalls (coz it used to be a mechanics yard) but please dont let that deter you. Food was the best for the kids (burgers, fish etc) and couldnt fault the service or our meal..

The Cliffe..having been to Barbados 3 times I was desparate to sample this exclusive restaurant although I had been told it was overated....I wasnt disappointed. Could have got a better table but the service and the food was THE BEST. and not THAT expensive.. we even took a menu as a momento.

La Mer... by Almond beach village and set in Port St Charles. Delightful enclosed harbour with beautiful yaughts again food and presentation excellent. Great to watch the massive fish swimming by the side of you.

Overall a fab time had by the parents...very relaxing (just lacking in moscito repellent") My girls got a little bored but we could have rectified that by more trips to more beaches..instead we chose to make full use of our facilities and stay on site.

I would return for an adults holiday and only again with the kids if we went with another family or we took our girls friends with us.

I could recommend any of these without hesitation
