This is the most appauling hotel i have ever been to. I booked this holiday through kuoni travel thinking they would only represent hotels of quality how wrong i was. I knew i was not going to sandy lane but one thing i expect is cleanliness and basic common courtesy both of which this hotel severly lack. It was so bad we checked out the minute we found alternative accommodation. From cockroaches in the rooms, ants, rude staff etc my memory of barbados unfortunately is really tarnished after spending 2 days in hell.

On a lovely white sandy beach great for surfers but waves too rough for most people to swim. Food is average but the cocktails are excellent. The rooms are pretty basic but good value for money. Also a little far out from most of the night life but only 10/15 mins from the St Lawrence Gap or Oistins. Not as expensive as the West Coast luxury hotels but for those on a budget well worth a visit.

me and partner ariived at silver sand and did think it was a bit remote , but we went with it . When we actually checked in and saw our room we was pleasantly suprised .
The food was actually very nice , and i am a chef so , i dont get at this bland rubbish i have read , the place is great the staff we very pleasant and funny and always willing to help out . The bar was very good too and prices quite resonable , even for cocktails and shooters . The pooI and beech facilites are good with stunning views , i would recomend this hotel as i cant wait to re visit there later this year .

I just got back from Barbados day before yesterday and to be honest, I loved my vacation. Although, I was only there for 5 days, I managed to make my days as LONG as possible and I really enjoyed it overall.

Some friends and I stayed at Silver Sands Hotel. I have mixed reviews about this place. The ambiance of the place is gorgeous, but then again, everywhere in Barbados has a beach and palm trees in the distance, so its beautiful in many places. The staff was VERY friendly to us, almost like they were looking out for us to an extent.

If you can help it, do not bother to eat breakfast at this hotel, or anything for that matter. They give you a choice of continental breakfast or Hot Breakfast. We chose the "hot" food option and it ended up being a waste at $35 per person. an absolute waste because the food was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E! Did you hear me? HORRIBLE. The good thing is that you can go up the street and catch the $1.50 "Zellar" van, which is .75 in USD and it will take you straight to town where you'll have MANY more and better options to eat.

The rooms were basically a place to lay your head and thats it. No refrigerator, no microwave, rusted toilet handle, rusted shower head and faucet, no remote for the tv, barely any channels. But then again, When you're on vacation, you're likely there to sightsee and not lounge in the room all day. And the staff is very nice, so i guess that helps.

-Internet is available although there is only one computer but no one really uses it. its $10BDS for 30 minutes
-don't take cabs if you don't have too. an average cab ride from Silver sands to Oisten's is about $25BDS.

Would I come back to Barbados? YES! Would I stay at Silver Sands "Resort"? NO!
