As soon as you pull in to the Zandoli, you realize you've arrived at a very special place. Situated on a lush bluff 80 ft above the sea, the first thing you appreciate is the fresh breeze coming from the Atlantic along with a stunning view of a coastline that could be somewhere in the South Pacific. The hotel is small and beautiful, with obvious touches from a master builder who paid attention to every detail. The colour scheme is bright and fresh - part Caribbean, part Mediteranean.
The meals were often served on a lovely patio with fresh linens and quality tableware. The food was fantastic with local seafood and and wonderful selection of salads, soups and deserts. Every night was a treat. Be sure to try the rum punch - comes complete with fresh shaved nutmeg - Yum!
Spend the day hiking to local waterfalls, snorkeling the coast or taking in the ever changing sky, water and coastal views. Host Linda and Chef Jenn along with the friendly and cordial local staff will ensure a wonderful stay. Enjoy!

Zandoli is a small, very comfortable and well-run inn in a beautiful setting. Linda, the owner, is a friendly, lively, and fun hostess. She can set you up with guides for the more challenging walks on the island, like Boiling Lake. There are plenty of books about the island, it's flora, fauna, and activities available in the dining room. We stayed in room 5 with incredible views of the sea and the hills of Dominica. The room has a small balcony too. Bathroom is very basic but clean. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The food was fantastic! On Christmas Day, Linda and staff served a turkey dinner including the local sorrel sauce instead of cranberry sauce. Other nights, dinner was kingfish, lobster and mahi-mahi. The appetizers, sides, salads and desserts were excellent. Breakfast started with a fresh fruit plate and we opted to have scrambled eggs to fuel up for the day's adventures. The raisin buns in the morning were really tasty. There is a small pool on a deck overlooking the sea and a walkway down to the rocky beach where you can swim or snorkel. Best sighting while snorkeling there was a hawksbill turtle. Drinks are served from 6 - 7 and guests gather to talk about their days. The Inn is about a 30 minute drive from Roseau and the road is quite good compared to others we drove on Dominica. Six acres or woods, gardens and walkways are also part of the property.

We just returned from a week in paradise. Dominica is like stepping into another world. So beautiful and exotic. Zandoli Inn was perfect! Our room (#5) was the best with a balcony and ocean and mountain views from two sides. The food was spectacular and we sure loved our rum punches lounging by the pool after a long day's hike through the rain forest.

Staff were the best. Jenn (owner's daughter) was so helpful to us with advice about where to go and what guides to use. She packed us fabulous lunches and cooked us incredible dinners every night!

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and we loved the solitude and quiet. The ocean waves could be heard from our room and lulled us to sleep each night.

All in all, one of our most wonderful vacations and we've traveled all over the world! Only bad thing: the airline lost our bag with our camera and all our pictures!!!

Zandoli Inn was the last inn of our Dominica trip and, in a sense, it was like saving the best for last. Canadian owner Linda is a funny and engaging woman who welcomed us and led us on a short tour of the propery. Think gentle breezes, a romantic and immaculate room, a sheltered cove and the wide, wide ocean before you. The grounds have interesting trees and plants such as the fragrant ylang ylang tree, orchids and a beautiful african iris whose blooms last one day. Evening dinner was served on the veranda with the twinkling lights of Grand Bay town across the bay. The food was delicious, portions were generous and a flourless cake made with Belgian chocolate will remain a fond food memory for a long time. While my partner slept in, I explored the friendly fishing village of Fond St Jean one morning, while the next morning I sat on the inn shore and watched the locals fishing in the bay. All in all, a perfect way to cap our trip.
