We stayed at Pepper's Cottage for 7 nights. Pepper was our guide for the whole week. It certainly is all about customer service with Pepper. We hiked boiling lake, Boeri Lake, Middleham Falls, Trafalgar, Emerald Pool, Boetica, Soufiere, snorkeled at champagne and the list goes on..

With Pepper as our guide and driver it really made a difference. He brought us to places we did not read about and we could enjoy the views from the car without the hassel of driving on the narrow roads ourselves.

The room is small but has everything you need.

Dominca is beautiful and the people are friendly and very proud of their country.

If you love the idea of seeing an island that has stop in time, ( with the natural sites similar to what the first settlers saw), then Dominica is the place for you.
The island - We spent four days on the island. It was our first time there and Pepper kept us busy from day 1 until day 4. We were truly overwhelmed with its natural beauty. Dominica has water, water everywhere (both hot and cold) and you can actually equate that to the many waterfalls throughout the island. The waterfalls are splendid, the mountain peaks with clouds as caps are truly different and the people are very open and friendly. On day 2, we went to the Middleham Falls. The hike was long, (since we were not accustom to hiking regularly ) but the end result was a sight to behold. N.B the water is very cold if you are going to swim there.
The host - the slogan on his web site is "Remember, it is all about YOU, @ Pepper's ". Well, that's 100% true. He makes you feel like family and all requests are filled. He has extensive knowledge of the island and tour prices are very affordable. You'll never have a dull moment with him, since he's always jolly and he always finds ways to make you forget your troubles. He even got up at 4.00am to take us to see the parrots at the Syndicate Parrot Reserve.
The cottage - it's very cozy and intimate for a couple (that's the one we were in). All the amenities are at your finger tips and just beyond the pool is the sea side. We enjoyed the morning ambiance of the rising sun and the breaking of the waves on the seashore, as we ate our breakfast at the table, on the veranda in the open air .
Dominica is just WOWWW!!!!!.....

Pepper is a wonderful host and guide. He took care of all the details for us and made our stay relaxing, well as relaxing as an 8 hour hike to the Boiling Lake can be. I would recommend him to anyone going to Dominica.

We are a young couple on a budget who were looking for a place to stay in Dominica where we could stay centrally (as we didnt have a car) and also organize tours to the more remote parts of the Island.

We booked a package of a weeks accomadation at pepper's cottage with 5 days touring included.

We found the cottage to be very pretty and well maintained, in a nice quiet neighbourhood, though only a couple of minutes walk to the city centre where beer, food, and fun can be found.

The star of the show, however, was Pepper himself. He allowed us to plan our own itinary cramming in as much as we wanted to, and making suggestions as to other places we missed.

He was a constant source of knowledge and enthusiasm, and seemed to know every person in Dominica, and had every phone number we could ever need.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable time, and highly recommend Pepper's to anyone thinking of a trip to Dominica, particularly those who wish to spend their time in the hands of a knowledgeable, local host.

Dominica is a tranquil island that in itself is an experience. The island is lush and the natives are friendly and helpful. None more so than our host for the week we spent there.

Having made contact through the internet, "Peppers" as he is affectionately known, was our helpful guide and advisor before we even got to the island. He made arrangements for a rental and alternative accomodation as his cottage was already booked for part of the period we would have been on the island.

He was our tour guide and an excellent one at that. We were able to visit every parish on the island and visit at least two places of interest everyday. Along the way, various spots were pointed out with a little history of the place. He knows his stuff and is obviously very proud to 'show off' his country to visitors.

A few of the places of interest where we went were, Fresh Water Lake, Fort Shirley, the Carib Reserve, Emerald Pool and the Sulpher Springs where we had the hottest bath ever. We did not get to visit/hike to Boiling Lake but I guess we will have to go back for that !

I could go on and on, but to get away and relax Dominica is the place and for the best tour guide 'Peppers' is the one !
