On day of arrival 8/25/076 escorted to Reina Delmar building by worker. Met 2 other employees in hall carrying a mattress upstairs I said hello and spoke couple sentences to one of the individuals who responded back in English. I was told the lady is on her way with the towels, so I had to use the bathroom so I left the door unlocked. While coming from the bathroom I saw the same English speaking employee inside my place by the dining room table where my bag was left open with my wallet because I just gave the guy tip who carried my luggage. I screamed at the guy in my place "what are you doing here" he ran outside without answering me. I then noticed my wallet was gone with $600 US dollars, 2 credit cards Am Ex and Citi Bk and 2 debit cards also, but most importand MY Florida driver's license and Hip medical card. I called Ricardi Kohan manager , told my story and he said the guy will return to work AT 11pm that same night so they will get him then I was distraught, however I got some food to eat that night from the resort. In the morning they called me to the office where they had the guy. He denied in spanish he was even in my room. I confronted him and said yes I saw you spoke to you and you ran out without speaking. Then they took him in the city to the jail and the manager took me also in his car down there . I spent about 2 hours there a real broken down dump, no one spoke english except the manager who interpreted my statemement. Took me back to resort I had no money no food nothing and I was now on my own for survival in a strange country. His job was completed I had me use his phone to cancel my cards. Then I had to keep on calling NY on my cell phone to get daughter to send me money by western union so finally sent me $300 I aske the manager for a ride only 10 minutes away and he said take a taxi that would be $20. On Tuesday he gave me a police report in Spanish and when I got it interpreted it says I was robbed by an outsider he does not know who broke down my door which was a Fat Lie. When I confronted him he says the guy no longer will get his job back and he wrote it that way to protect his job. I told him that is a lie and the least he could have done was to tell the truth what happened to me for my personal satisfaction. He said he will not put down that the guy was an employee and I cannot do anything about it That's the way it is so get the FBI , the intropol police or do as you please nothing will change. I said you gave me no compensation and this is how you treat me. He said I have nothing else to say to so leave. I was so upset I had no money to do much I ate once a day only dinner and I had to pay $90 dollars to taxi to get to places I had to and also out of the little money $40 to the airport. it was so bad for me I walked in the nearby ghetto half mile away to get something cheap at the store for breakfast and my left foot twisted in a large pothole and now could not walk good, in severe pain with large swelling I could only fit my sneaker on my foot and take aspirn for pain every 4 hours. I was bitten all over ny mosquitoes and now I have to pay $202 to t-mobile for phone charges trying to get money. No compensation from the manager and sympathy. He is a monster and need to be fired He is very wicked and at least I should get some food because his employee robbed me of a vacation I look froward to for months. The bar tenders were nice no english but showed care I had to tip them for that and every day and night I sat on the beach by myself and in the bar alone because no money to go on trips or to enjoy myself. He cannot repay me for a week of mysery but with a big lie and disrespect. Please investigate and do something about the care and safety of the visitors. This man upset me he know this employee for a long while and he promised me he would not get his job back when they release him from jail. I felt he went to the guy house and he and the police kept my money and could not return to me my documents This is how corrupt thes people are. I want other tourist to be aware of Ricardo Kohan manager. Thanks
