“Great Beaches!!”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

We heard so many wonderful things about this resort but after staying there, we want to add a few items of interest for future travelers. We booked our trip through bookit.com. We had the Platinum Package which includes bottle of rum, fruit basket, unlimited room service and robes/slippers. For those who want to stay at a nice resort, for relaxation, quiet nights and beautiful beach views, all inclusive with plenty of variety of food, this is for you.. We stayed in the 4th bldg, on 3rd floor, near everything, our balcony view was beautiful, we could see the ocean and the pool along with the gardens. Food at Fish restaurant was fantastic!! Service there was awesome! Other restaurants were very good as well, however, the a/c didn't work in most and it wasn't much better at the buffet, always hot, not enough fans. Even the lobby area, with the main bar, was very hot at night, no breeze, not enough fans or ventiliation. Poolside bar was the highlight!! We made many friends there. Pool was immaculate. There were even ducks swimming in it every morning. Spa - a disappointment, asked for deep tissue, got a relaxation message instead. Therapist kept checking her cell phone for calls during the massage, ugh!! Don't go into town unless you want to be mobbed and insulted by vendors who want to take you for every penny. Distance from airport is about 30 minutes, rough cab ride will cost you $33.00 one way, no matter how many people need it. Service was excellent, front desk, concierge, maid, restaurants and bars. We especially liked, Jose, Elvis, Hector, Nelson, Altagracia, Ingrid, Anderson, Emilio. The beach was beautiful, white thin sand, you can walk for miles... awww!! Animation Team - RATING: poor. They should all be fired. They were more interested in their own activities and didn't do their best to interact with the guests. Volleyball games were fun, however one day we were given a damaged volleyball instead of another and we were told to use it, no one offered to get a new one. It was almost like the animation team worked for a 2-star resort... thanks to Fernando, we were able to get a volleyball and start our games again. Best Restaurant - Fish, Worst Restaurant - TEXMEX. Resort stores were WAY overpriced! There was really little to do on this property at night, we went to adjacent resort for shows, disco, etc. We want to say hi to Dave, Tiffany (thanks for the "Tiffany Special"), Todd, Adrienne, Bob and Terry. Lets keep in touch! Pura 'n Victor

JUST DON"T EAT THE FOOD!

I just returned home after a seven day stay at the Punta Cana Princess (July 1 to 8 2008) My travel mate got severly sick from the food, along with several other guests from the hotel, and this review should not to be confused with any other travelers reviews who might also have experienced the same fate!

The food is not kept at room temperature, thus inviting a potential for a real food born outbreak, which indeed happened. I was fortunate enough not to get sick, but I ate several yogarts a day, and stayed with rice and beans as the quality of the food was poor to low grade.

I hate to write a review like this, but I feel managment should be made aware that guests are getting sick, with mild to severe stomache problems and the food issue should be immediately addressed for the safety of all concerned.

Otherwise, this hotel is truly great and has the potential to be outstanding except for the food issues.

“Beautiful Place Averaage Food”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

Just returned from a 8 day vacation at the Princess...Having done my homework on ths resort , I really can't complain...I have to agree with most of the reviews...Beach is gorgeous..Rooms are very nice..Fridge is always stocked with water , coke and beer...Air Conditioning in room worked well and bed was comfortable...The food at best was mediocre ...I enjoyed the fondue retaurant the most....The buffet style breakfast and lunches got tiresome after a couple of days...My biggest complaint was that the MIlk was not really kept cold and I found the fruit not so special...The pool is great , especially the bar that sits in the pool...The beaches are gorgeous, the staff is friendly...I agree that the only thing stopping this from being a 5 star resort is the food...It is reallya beautiful resort so I wouldn't stop anyone from going there...Bring immodium and pepto bismol...Also bring sunscreen from home..bring more than you think you will need as the prices at the hotel store are high..So try to plan in advance any medicines or lotions that you need to bring with you so you don't overpay...Although I enjoyed the resort I probably would like to return to Punta Cana but I would spend a little more $$ and try to find a place with better food...

My Husband and I stayed at the Princess from 6/26 to 7/3 for our 15th wedding anniv. We had a great time! The resort was beautiful, our room was great (building 5, close to the beach and pool). We received a very nice welcome when we arrived, loved the fruit punch! We were able to get into our room early and we felt the room was perfect! The beach is fabulous and the beach beds......so comfortable! The pool was clean and refreshing. It would have been nice if the pool was open at night though..it's still hot and a night swim would be nice.
We met some wonderful people....hi, San Antonio, Georgia, Virginia and Liverpool, England!! The staff was wonderful, we have no complaints....the girls/guys at the breakfast buffet, bartenders, animation team (Pablo, Luis, Celina...) were great! Our room was cleaned well, I liked that they knocked on our door around 6:00 pm each day to ask if we needed anything. We didn't get turn down service each night, but that's okay. The only (small) complaint I have is not enough bath towels. But if you could find a maid in the hall you could get more.
The food was okay, not the best, not the worst. The best dinner we had was at the Shangay in the resort next door. It was definately my husband's favorite! The fondue restaurant was good, it's different......it's a long time in there. Fortunately, we did not get sick. We heard a lot of people talking about stomach problems. I actually gave Imodium out to people. Since we've been home our stomachs are a little "off" but nothing major.
We did one excursion to Sanoa. Pedro from VIP travel couldn't have been nicer. He was very helpful, had a lot of information and booked our trip for us. Unfortunately it rained almost the whole trip! It was cold, wet and lots of mosquitos on Sanoa. If you go, bring your bug spray!! Miguel was our guide (from VIP travel) and he was very nice. He spoke very good English which was helpful when we had a sightseeing tour on the bus ride.
We loved our vacation and we would definately go back to Punta Cana Princess!

After reading many reviews on the Princess we decided to give it another chance. We were there 4 years ago and I got sick then. Not as sick as this time but my gut was not right for a month after returning home. The reviews seemed that there had been some improvement with the food but my experience was again, not good.
Yes, the beach, the rooms, weather are very good. Thats why we went back. The setting is beautiful,if only they could get their act together with the food it could be a 5 star resort.
I was there one day and a half and I got diarrea. I was very careful and also had no drinks but bottled water and 2 beers. By thursday I had to go to the clinic. A very nice Dr. in the clinic on the grounds prescribed me anti- biotic, pills for my bowels, pepto bismol and intravenous drugs for 2 days, to the tune of $430. Nice vacation, I spent most of my time in the washrooms. I have never had anything like that in my life. I am back to work this week and still I'm on gatoraide for my electrolights because I'm feeling so weak.
It's not hard to figure out why people get sick. The buffet food is NEVER hot. It sits there room temp for hours. Sure there is plenty of food but all of it has no taste and is sitting there growing bacteria. I even tried a hard boiled egg, thinking that was safe. It was so over cooked, black yoke that just disentegrated it was so dry.My husband ordered a caesar salad at the Tex Mex and it came like soup with so much dressing on a hot plate.Don't bother trying to make a caesar if all you have is iceberg lettuce. The food is a joke.
Will I go back? Never. I can spend my money in many other places with a nice beach and not get so sick ,it ruins my holiday. I went knowing it was not gourmet, I did not expect that. The only word I can use to describe the food is slop.
By the way a wedding party had 5 sick people and another young couple from England were sick.My husband spoke to another lady that was ill also.
The animation team are so irritating. This is supposed to be a adult resort. I can make my own fun. I don't need someone pulling me out of my chair to teach me dance lessons or play volley ball. The music they blasted at the pool everyday was for their pleasure only. The same 4 songs every day. I did not see anyone else looking like they enjoyed it. as a matter of fact some people got very mad at them in the pool, they were so pushy and overbearing. People tried to ignore them but its pretty hard when the music is blasting and you can't get away from them, they just take over for 3-4 hours every afternoon.
Go somewhere else!!!!
