I will have to echo the sentiments of the previous two reviews. Great resort, absolutely the worst food I have ever eaten while on vacation. It's a shame when the meal you most look forward to is three eggs over easy with wheat toast. My wife and the couple we were with all got sick, even with taking the usual precautions with the water. One person in our entourage is still sick and having to go to the doctor.
We also had a difficult time getting washcloths even though we tipped daily. When we specifically asked our housekeeper she would always say "later'. The only other problem we had was we had requested a kingsized bed. Not only did we not get one but it appeared that the majority of the rooms consisted of two double beds. Keep that in mind if it is important to you.
Things I liked about the resort: the beach beds were absolutely awsome. People will walk by on the beach obviously staring with envy. The staff are great. My hat's off to Hector, Emilio, Luisa and Ibileesa for their hospitality.
The animation team was not as bad as some report, we just ignored them.

Would we go back? No.
Would we recommend? No, unless good food is unimportant to you or you wish to lose some weight.

Whatever the case, happy travels!

“Paradise!-Paraiso!”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

EVERYTHING is like PARADISE here! .....from the time you are greeted getting off of the plane....to the time you arrive and are warmly greeted with a sincere Hola! with a a smile with security , to the reception desk and a welcome drink, cool towels at the front desk and the welcoming feeling NEVER stops at the hotel by ALL ...to the time you have to say Hasta la vista to all who have made your vacation like HEAVEN on earth! We stayed in Bldg 5 ...I believe 5102 from April 24th -May 3rd and it was an AWESOME room and thx to all for helping us with those accomodations! The views of the ocean, the breeze, the accessibility and help doing that , the pool, the pool bar and bartenders, the animation team who showed all alot of fun and did not force ya to do anything but watched people have a ball joining in the fun who wanted to. ,,,,,and Emilio at the lobby bar and the others also.....do you remember my name Emilio? It's not a common one..ha ha
The resort 's location is INCREDIBLE! The views , the beach and to feel silky, powdery, white sand on your feet , the aqua, teal and blue, warm, calm waters and the breeze and with all your senses being used....and then ya add the beach beds ( all included in VIP and all well worth the little extra)and butler service..a seafood restaurant and two bars and showers and restrooms if need be and a pool in the near distance....what more can ya say about that???? As they say, LOCATION< LOCATION< LOCATION! They got it going on there even with no resort...but the resort and it's staff are the icing on the cake and then some....
When it comes to service they are TOPS! trust us on that one...we have worked in the hotel and cruise industry for many years in the past..at major world interantional hotels also..in F&B and also as a concierge, and when it comes to this type of industry it is all about SERVICE<SERVICE>SERVICE and they sure know how to reach HIGH BEYOND EXCELLENCE.....hats off to ALL who work there! ..and MUCHAS GRACIAS! ....From ALL at the front desk including Diana in guest services who knows what excellent service is and how to do it .....to all who follow or lead along with her....to Karen and Carol and Steicy andeveryone else ...and for understanding when a person has disabilities and accomodating you and your spouse to ALL you need during your stay and realizing some people's needs may be different than others and it being an extra blessing for them accomodating you so your energy can be used on having A MOST MEMORABLE VACATION!!!....to All who greet you along the way ALL of the time..the gardeners and maintenance crew, who I may say keep the grounds sooooo BEAUTIFUL and IMMACULATE...to the people who drive you to your room and make sure all is well .to the rtrams you can use to get to and from the sister resorts and the crepes are great there I may add and also the Japanese/cniese rest as well and as well as the service.but I liked the Adults only idea here and the resort was excellent for people with disabilities and very undeerstanding about them also.....to the people who drop off your welcome basket and other goodies with a smile and a warm Hola as well and ....to the note we received for welcoming us and wishing us a Happy 10 yr Anniv and all from the staff...to the surprise platter of cheeses and caviar for our anniv too sent to our room as well..ths again all and Diana.....to the maids who ALL were WONDERFUL and hardworking as well and would help to make your stay comfortable and clean and having the conveniences of all filed every day to all cleaned everyday to turn down service to whatever you also needed.....to ALL in the F&B/REST ...from Pedro and other F&B managers who's performance ranks REAL high and are aim to please as well with warm hearts as well and including Louisa, Stefany,Hector, Sandra, Nelson,Serapio and ALL at the Seafood restaurant ( still waiting to hear from yas and we have pics we are gonna send soon which we love looking at remembering yas all too and miss yas alot! )and ALL others at ALL of the other restaurants .....and we went to ALL of them and had all the works..ALL were AWESOME from the servers to the prep cooks to the maintenance crew....you should ALL be proud of each other too.......4 course meals, drinks( both alcohol and not) and desserts too, of course!...and never ever were we ever sick and never had to take any meds from home for any stomach problems at all...(we took our antimalarial meds and used spray and all only as preventive to stay safe, that's all.)....to the MOST ROMANTIC and MOST UNFORGETTABLE private ANNIV dinner under the stars and on the beach in the pergola/gazebo with palm lined pathways with candles, warm smlies, our own private waiters, a 4 course dinner we could choose and drinks and champagne and a menu to keep and ALL decorated soooo beautifully from the food, and hat's off to ALL of the chefs in ALL of the restaurants, and the presentation to the most caring service we have EVER received! ...and even LOTS of pics to remember such an INCREDIBLE ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT....and more pics for the same to CHERISH FOREVER!
All we can say is that if you want a MOST MEMORABLE and MOST BREATHTAKING place with EXCELENTE service than GO TO PUNTA CANA PRINCESS and if anyone has anything to complain about here than you shouldn't be on any vacation but stay home and stay unhappy ......cause this place itself just sitting at the water's edge makes ya forget all your troubles and adding the service and people here is , as I said, the icing on the cake,...who are sooooo down to earth I can't emphasize that enough, and who offer you the most incredible service imaginable ! Please tip all who work here ...ALL...they appreciate your appreciation! We would be back here again in a heartbeat!!!!! and as we said to all who have touched our lives and hearts and made our vacation the BEST so far and our 10 yr ANNIVERSARY like paradise....we will never forget you and pretty soon .....Hasta la vista! and Muchas Gracias to ALL!
PS the ONLY suggestions we have because one of us has disabilites ....and this place was great for them to begin me with the size of the resort etc.....is to put a small boardwalk/pathway from the beach to showers and seafood restaurant so if someone has trouble with disabilities and sand to get to beach beds, etc so if ya have an unsteady gait or a cane,or walker or wheelchair it could work for all and even without a disability....and another suggestion....for rooms close to the beach and who may be able to get a room that can receive an ocean breeze......it would be nice to have the option of opening the sliding glass dorrs with a screened door that locks too so that at night if ya wanted to sleep with the doors open you would have the natural ocean breeze and room fan too and be able to hear the ocean and feel the breeze and not have any bugs esp mopsquitos bothering you and talk about PARAISO!

“Great Resort, Lousy Food!”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

10 Jul 2008
5/5 found this review helpful

What a beautiful place! The staff was fantastic and the resort was in impecible shape! We read all the reviews before we left and we took all the advice that people had wrote about ie: take bug spray, etc. We didn't have any problems with bugs on the beach or at night. The rooms were very nice and the housekeeping staff was very prompt and courteous. However, during our second day, Montezuma swam across the gulf and landed at the resort. While we took extra caution to NOT drink tap water and only drink bottled water, Montezuma still found his way to the food and the buffett food was terrible and the selection was plain and not very assorted on each day. Fresh fruit was served with a cover and not protected from the local flies. I fell ill then my wife on the third day. After talking with at least 12 other couples, we learned that they had fallen ill as well and they had met even more couples that had attracted the gut wrenching sickness too. By the fifth night of our visit, we just wanted to go home. We couldn't pin point if it was something we ate or drank, but none-the-less, we all got it. The entertainment group was very pushy and didn't get the hint that we just wanted to be left alone while on the beach or at the pool. We just got up and relocated when they would show up. We weren't into the type of music that they played loudly every day. While most of the people at the resort seemed to be in their late 20's, 30's and 40's, the nerve wracking rap music and dance music was just very unwelcoming and would have suited a younger, single crowd rather than a romantic couples get-a-way. Other than the food and entertainment, the resort, the rooms, the staff, the bar staff, the pool and the beaches were very pleasent. Would I recommend this place to my friends? Probably not, due to the food and what the end result would be more visiting the bathrooms, rather enjoying the friendly people from around the world. Oh, one more thing. Guys....take a pants for the ala carte restaurants. Had it not been for the front desk clerk Julio Ceasar lending me a pair, I would have been regulated to the buffett for days! The ala carte restaurants were very average adn not really any different than what you would experience in your home town, and get there early. They don't have circulating air and it get's very stuffy and hot in there. Especially the Fondu restaurant. You'd think if they were going to give you an open fire to dip food into, they would at least have air conditioning and vents to pull the hot air out! When we arrived we were so looking forward to a beautiful vacation and it would have been had the food been better. We now have been home for 3 weeks and we are still experiencing stomach problems. This resort could easily be rated a 5 star place, but, as most of us know, we can be sitting in the most beautiful restaurants in the world, but if the food is bad, we won't be going back. The overall experience we had could have been a 5, but again, with the food and the sickness resulting from that, we rate this experience a 2.

“Great Resort will be back”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

My partner and I went to the Punta Cana Princess for 7 night at the suggestion of our travel agent. It was more then expected. Great people, good food and plenty to drink. We met guest from all around the world and every body got along like all good friends. You will need to pack Pepto-Bismol, amodiem and dont forget to take a large insulated mug for cocktails. The bar tenders do not mind filling them up. Your room gets cleaned between 2 & 4:00 PM. But that wont matter because you are at the beach, pool or a bar. Ride the trolly between the other three resorts and see the shows and disco. The food is a little better at the Caribe Resort. The jeep tour and the booze cruise tours were great also. I highly recomend these. Take plenty of $ 1.00 bills, no one will give you change back in american money. Credit cards only used in the resort at the tour booking or the front deck. You will not really know the exact exchange until you bill comes in. Go - Enjoy - and just lay back and relax.

“Great Beaches!!”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

10 Jul 2008

We heard so many wonderful things about this resort but after staying there, we want to add a few items of interest for future travelers. We booked our trip through bookit.com. We had the Platinum Package which includes bottle of rum, fruit basket, unlimited room service and robes/slippers. For those who want to stay at a nice resort, for relaxation, quiet nights and beautiful beach views, all inclusive with plenty of variety of food, this is for you.. We stayed in the 4th bldg, on 3rd floor, near everything, our balcony view was beautiful, we could see the ocean and the pool along with the gardens. Food at Fish restaurant was fantastic!! Service there was awesome! Other restaurants were very good as well, however, the a/c didn't work in most and it wasn't much better at the buffet, always hot, not enough fans. Even the lobby area, with the main bar, was very hot at night, no breeze, not enough fans or ventiliation. Poolside bar was the highlight!! We made many friends there. Pool was immaculate. There were even ducks swimming in it every morning. Spa - a disappointment, asked for deep tissue, got a relaxation message instead. Therapist kept checking her cell phone for calls during the massage, ugh!! Don't go into town unless you want to be mobbed and insulted by vendors who want to take you for every penny. Distance from airport is about 30 minutes, rough cab ride will cost you $33.00 one way, no matter how many people need it. Service was excellent, front desk, concierge, maid, restaurants and bars. We especially liked, Jose, Elvis, Hector, Nelson, Altagracia, Ingrid, Anderson, Emilio. The beach was beautiful, white thin sand, you can walk for miles... awww!! Animation Team - RATING: poor. They should all be fired. They were more interested in their own activities and didn't do their best to interact with the guests. Volleyball games were fun, however one day we were given a damaged volleyball instead of another and we were told to use it, no one offered to get a new one. It was almost like the animation team worked for a 2-star resort... thanks to Fernando, we were able to get a volleyball and start our games again. Best Restaurant - Fish, Worst Restaurant - TEXMEX. Resort stores were WAY overpriced! There was really little to do on this property at night, we went to adjacent resort for shows, disco, etc. We want to say hi to Dave, Tiffany (thanks for the "Tiffany Special"), Todd, Adrienne, Bob and Terry. Lets keep in touch! Pura 'n Victor
