We booked this excursion through our cruise ship Freedom of the Seas. We do enjoy Bob Marley's music but mainly took it because we wanted to see some of the country side. That we did. Our excursion was the Chukka Bob Marley. It's a long trip but worth it. The road is one lane, very twisty & very windy. The bus driver had to beep his horn the whole way to warn drivers he was coming. Make sure you give him a HUGE tip, he deserved every penny. The country side is beautiful, but at times very depressing looking at the poverty. You make a stop a long the way for a bathroom & this is the same place you stop on your return to eat. There's a small gift shop there & their prices are good, but I was disappointed there was no Jamiacan coffee to buy. The tour guide was very informative, playing Bob's music the whole way, answering questions & explaining why Bob wrote each song. He does warn you that once you get to the "estate" you will be asked if you want to buy any marijuana, it is legal in Jamaica. They do ask you numerous times. I expected his estate to be larger, you really get to see just his bedroom, where his mom is bured & then where he & his brother are buried. You are not allowed to take pictures in his mauseleom, but you can at his mother's. You also must remove your shoes. I bought a candle to light & I was allowed to lead the procession around his grave, give my thanks to Bob & then put out my candle. That was very special. Our tour guide at the estate was named Crazy. The name suits him. I have a much deeper understanding & respect of Bob & his music & his religion now. I'll appreciate his music more. I only wished we had more opportunity to do some shopping in town before we had to board the cruise ship as the only 2 places you have time to shop at is the gift store along the way & the one at the state. Neither one sold Jamaican coffee
