This was our 2nd time staying in Jamaica. We picked Breezes MoBay because of the super short ride from the airport, maybe 5 minutes.
When we arrived at Breezes we were greeted by Herman, the bellman, he had cold drinks for us and a cool towel. Check in was so quick and he showed us to our room. From when we got out of the cab and to our room took about 10 minutes tops! Both A/C units in our room worked great. Very Cold and Quiet.
We changed into our swimsuits and headed to the bar and the beach The bar staff was great and was super quick with our drinks, Amanda is awesome behind the bar, very quick and a great smile.
The resort grounds are clean and well maintained. Grounds crew was working at it everyday.
The Buffett food is like all buffett food, just ok. The pool grill was excellent- Burgers, fries, nachos, JERK CHICKEN.
The entertainment staff did a great job trying to get people to join in the activities. Its a difficult job the get people to join when nobody wants to play. My wife and I met some great people by the pool and played most of the activites, we created "TEAM MIKE". (Hey Mike,Rosy,Chris and Dani Miss you guys) by the end of the week Team Mike had won 6 bottles of rum by playing the activities pool side.
The night club, toga night ,pj party, and piano bar are a joke, nobody there.
Margaritaville is about a 10 minute walk down the street, we went several times and we felt safe walking, we were offered drugs and cab rides, just tell them," All Set" and they are fine.
If you want to go on an adventure do the ZipLine Tour. It is Awesome, so much fun and so safe.

Some advice to future Breezes guests:
1.Stay in a suite if you can, the regular rooms are small and everybody complains about them; small space, no A/C etc.
2. Remember that the staff can't take tips, We discovered that if you greet them with a simple greeting and a smile and thank them for their services they tend to be more pleasant to you. Don't demand your drinks or food. Your on vacation be happy and be nice.
3. Do the Zipl Line Adventure
4. Remember you staying at a 5 star resort-Just relax and enjoy the rum

“Better off to stay home”

Breezes Montego Bay

17 Jul 2008

If you are planning a trip and this is your only option - stay home.

After a recent stay of 5 nights, I was left with so many disappointments that I would have been better off to stay home.

The rooms were not updated other than the bedspread and the curtains. Other than that, the furniture needs to be updated as we had drawers that didn't open or close and were all nicked up.

The bathroom was in need of cleaning and the vanity was in need of new hinges so the door didn't just hang crooked.

The shower didn't work, there was no plug for the drain and we had to beg to get extra towels. A good power washer with some bleach should have been takend to the entire bathroom.

As far as cleanliness of the tile floor in the room, they must have used the same bucket of dirty water each day because you couldn't walk on the tile without getting your feet dirty.

The room had a terrible musty smell in it that was unidentifiable and when we opened the patio door to get fresh air, the maid promptyly closed it and told us that we could not have it open with the air conditioning on.

The outdoor hallways to each room look as though they haven't been cleaned since the last rainfall.

As far as food, it was reduntant and a good McDonalds would have seemed like a gourmet meal.

The people for the most part who worked there left their smiles at home and we felt like we were really bothering them when we asked questions or complained. Believe me, if you don't get your towel card - don't ask them for another one because they are worth the price of gold and you won't get one.

This place might be ok for the old college spring break days but if you are truly looking for a place that you want to relax and expect some pampering - go to the Motel 6 you would have a better time.

The place should not have superclub status and we way overpaid for the entire stay. I would have demanded a refund but since I didn't want to just waste words, I decided to make sure I wrote a review to spare others. I would still like to see a credit for most of the nights we had there since we had 2 rooms we really overpaid.

After visiting with several other couples that were there they too were disappointed and question whether they will return to Jamaica a place that truly is beautiful and left us with bad opinions.

Oh yes and remember this is located on the public beach so you have rift raft coming in and bothering you on a regular basis. You feel them lurking all around and even when you sitting at the outdoor bar, they are peeking over the walls.

“Loved Every Moment!”

Breezes Montego Bay

15 Jul 2008

It is a pleasure to add my review to others who’ve traveled to Breezes Montego Bay and have enjoyed their stay as much as my husband and I did. We stayed for five days and didn’t have a complaint at all. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a cold drink of our choice.

The front desk assisted us with calling the airline that had lost our luggage, and were able to assist in securing them that same evening. When the luggage arrived at the hotel, the airline had somehow gotten all the contents, including the luggage, soaking wet. We called hotel housekeeping and they saw how distressed we were and they took our clothing from the suitcase and had them wash and dried, without changing us to do so. They returned our clothing before dinner that same evening. We later found out that it was a complementary gesture and they normally change for laundry service.

The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. On our third day, we asked for directions to go into the market, and one very nice employee told us he was going that way after his shift was over, so if we wanted to drive with him, we were welcome to do so. We took him up on his offer and offered to pay for his time, but he wouldn’t hear of it. He took us to the market, helped us bargain down the locals, and drove us back to the hotel. We tried to at least pay for gas, but he wouldn’t even accept that. He just told us to enjoy the rest of our stay.

The beach was wonderful. We stretched out most of the day. The liquor flowed all day and night and the food was fantastic. On the second day my husband found a do-it-yourself set-up on our way to the beach where he was able to pour his own drinks instead of going to the bar. I think he thought he had died and gone to Heaven.

I personally enjoyed the meals and nightly entertainment by the pool.– especially the fruit bar and the seafood medley and the ackee an salfish. for breakfast. I asked for the recipe of a couple dishes and got it wouldn’t a problem.

Collectively, my husband and I have traveled to Jamaica about ten times but this was our first time at Breezes Montego Bay. The atmosphere was wonderful and cozy and the guests were from all parts of the world.

We are looking forward to our next vacation next year! We're planning on staying longer than 5 days!

Thanks Breezes for a wonderful experience.

“Breezes, Montego Bay”

Breezes Montego Bay

14 Jul 2008
1/1 found this review helpful

My husband and I arrived at the Breezes, Montego Bay on July 7th and left on July 11th of 2008. I wasn’t impressed upon arrival. Let me start with the Shuttle driver from the airport; He was fussing with another shuttle driver about whose taking us to the hotel, so we had to listen to that for 5 minutes while they ranted. The first hotel we arrived at was a run down place and I prayed that it wasn’t our hotel. That hotel was Hotel Glorianna or something like that. We drove down the way a bit and arrived at the Breezes. From the outside, the grounds were clean, but when we arrived, the shuttle driver was in a hurry to get us off the so he asked us to get our bags from the bus window. We checked in and went to our room and I felt like I was in the wrong hotel. The room was very small, the A/C is a little box mounted to the wall. Our bed was 2 twins that they forgot to push together. The room smelled like bleach and held a musty odor. The bathtub had a broken dispenser that constantly dripped body soap in the tub. I wanted to leave, but had to wait out my flight. At night, I couldn’t sleep for the constant noise the hotel staff was making. I heard banging pots/pans about 5am every morning. It sounded like I was sleeping under a bridge. My purpose of the trip was to relax and I didn’t seem to do that very well. The Breezes entertainment staff could use some work. Their entertainment staff (Carlos, Von and another lady) tried to talk people into doing basketball throws and pool cannon balls which weren’t entertaining at all. 2 nights, they had a lady performing and she wasn’t all that great, I would rather listen to Karaoke instead. The food was mediocre for an all inclusive. I expected more and wanted more from the Breezes. We decided to do the day pass to Hedo II and that was nice. If I had known better, we would have booked at Hedo II. It’s a nicer resort and their food was wonderful. I thought Hedo only had the nude side, but they have 2 sides, a nude side and a clothed side, so you have a choice which side you want to partake in. Take my advice and run away from the Breezes.

“No Love from Breezes Montego Bay”

Breezes Montego Bay

14 Jul 2008

My biggest disappointment was the staff. When you are on vacation you tend to look at the staff to be willing to help you with anything you need. It's supposed to be your home away from home for a short period of time. Well...in all honesty all of them acted as if you were interrupting their leisure time. I complained the room was dirty & received a very nasty call from the maid asking me to "show her" where it was dirty at 9 am the next morning! I didn't know I was required to wake up very early, get dressed & show the disgusting tissues stuck on the wall. It was obvious they had no finese in handling the issue.

The buffet food was terrible, I ate fruit all day long because it was the safest looking dish. The grill by the pool was very good. The restaurant "Pastafari" was terrible. Think of cafeteria food with nice decor. If only you could eat the atmosphere then I would say it was decent. Oh if only napkins were edible.

The watersport staff were absolutely heinous. I stood at the towel hut to ask for towels & got shot an "Excuseee me?!" from one of the female staffers. "NO! You can't have one unless you have a card". Well it would have been nice if I received one when I checked in but they forgot to do that as well. I asked to do numerous water activities and the staff looked bothered to be asked to put down their beer & get off their butts. Remember anytime you have someone visit you from outside the resort you need to pay a deposit for their musky, rough, blue towel $15 pp as well as to purchase a guest pass for the day & night.

Part of Jamaica's slogan is "One Love" but I got absolutely NO love from Breezes Mo'Bay.
