My husband and I stayed at the Jamaica Innfor 1 week to celebratte our 10th wedding anniversary. The hotel is truly what they advertise "a small grand hotel". From the moment we arrived we felt truly special. Mary the general manager is unbelievable. We were treated as if we were old friends. The wait staff are all fantastic. I can't name them all, but Alvin, Kamar, Angie, Roshan and the rest, were always there to help. Teddy and his jokes are a real treat and Rupert knew what we liked and when to deliver it. This entire team works like a family.
The room was unbelievable. Our room was just like the picture on the online site. Being able to step out right onto the sand to our very own palapa was like living a dream. It was just what we wanted. Peace and quiet with nothing but the water, a book and a drink in our hands!
The restaurant was top notch. THe food was super fresh and prepared beautifully. When we were there the head chef had just left and the sous chef stepped in. Kudos to him, the food was delicious. We were never disappointed. On our last night there, Alvin was even able to get the curried goat ,which was not on the menu, for my husband. He couldn't have been happier.
The sunsets, the sand, the people....made it the best vacation ever. We will be back....
This place is truly a gem....and shouldn't be missed.

We just got back from an amazing 8 day trip. everything about the Jamaica Inn is top of the line. When we first arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome from Richard, Mary and even her awesome dog in addition to being informed we were upgraded to an amazing room just a few steps from the beach. Our days were spent with top shelf drinks made by the likes of the legends known as Teddy and Rupert and brought to us by an extremely nice waitress named Georgia who started each day by saying "no rum, no fun!". We started off each day with a delicious breakfast with an equally amazing view from our room. Lunch was served at our lounge chairs on the beach which we washed down with a great planters punch or pina colada. The dinners were extremely intimate starting with drinks and hor'devers on the terrace to the options of live music and gourment food under the stars or a candlelight dinner in our room. The weather was perfect and since it was off season we had almost the entire beach and sea to ourselves. one word of advice is to pack alot of sun screen as in the words of andrew our driver "Jamaican sun will crack yo skin" and no worries if it does because the onsite spa will strip you and scrub you down with a pina colada wash and aloe bath. the spa also is set with the most amazing view of the sea and the sounds of the waves breaking beneath you is extremely calming. Even though our 8 days went extremely fast in retrospect the Jamaica inn has a way of making time stand still during your stay. Everything about this place was wonderful and we highly recommend this place if you are considering a trip to Jamaica. Thank you to Mary and her wonderful stay for making this a vacation we will never forget.

My wife and I just got back (we stayed July 13-July18) and we had a wonderful time at this beautiful resort. The reviews on this site along with other travel sites are the reason I chose to stay here in the first place.

The Room : We stayed in a Deluxe Verandah Suite, it was very clean and combined with the verandah very roomy. What we liked most about this room was that we were one hop over the balcony away from the beach. From there we had 20 steps to shaded lounge chairs and another 20 steps to the beach. The room was cleaned very well each morning and they would come by again in the evening to turn down the room if you wished.

The Beach : Very nice and spotless beach. There were many shaded lounge chairs to choose from and since we were here during off peak season there was no problem finding an empty seat. The staff raked and combed the beach every morning. It seemed like they had people tidying up the place 24/7. There was no one other than starff and hotel guests on their beach, very private.

The Staff : Everyone was so nice and helpful. Mary was great, after a tiring sight seeing trip we came back famished but it wasn't lunch time, Mary asked the staff to give us the lunch menus anyway. She also helped arranged a surprise (for my wife) parasailing trip! Teddy the bartender, all the waiters and hotel staff were very nice, always greeting us with a hearty hello. Tony the boat man took us on a trip to Dunn's River Falls by boat, he got us there before the cruise ship patrons so that we could experience the falls in a very quite setting and on our own pace. He then took us out snorkeling and to Laughing Waters for some really nice pictures. This was a very nice trip and I would suggest it to everyone.

Activities : Other than the boat/snorkeling trip we went on the Chukka Canpoy Tour which was fun but be prepared for a long bus ride as they pick up other people at other hotels then take you to their base camp before moving on to the location of your choosing. My wife has a massage and she said it was wonderful.

The Food : All of the food we ate at Jamaica in was prepared and presented professionally. The water glasses were always full and we never left wanting for anything. We really enjoyed most of the food we ate, there were some "local" flavors that weren't our favorite but that is because we are both really picky eaters, not because of anything the food preparers did wrong.

Other guests : There were not very many other guests at the hotel when we stayed. We did meet a wonderful couple from Turkey that we spent some time with and exchanged emails with. Everyone else we met was very friendly. If you are looking for a big party every night and crowds of young people then this is not the place for you. We got just what we wanted, a nice quiet time together.

Other notes : If you can get transport from the airport through Jamaica Inn I would recommend it. I made the mistake of using the tour bus and it took over two hours to get there. We did have an issue with our fridge and toilet while we stayed but both issues were resolved quickly and professionally. Lastly, I don't know if they are seasonal but the frogs make a terrible racket at night (my wife actually enjoyed it) so you might want to bring ear plugs if that sort of thing bothers you.

I would definitely recommend the Jamaica Inn as a wonderful place to stay while in Jamaica.

My wife and I were so impressed by the reviews of the Jamaica Inn on this site that we chose it for our honeymoon resort. We were so thankful that we did! Everything was incredible. The room was large and well cleaned. The weather was perfect the entire week. The beach was private and felt like we had it all to ourselves. And the view of the ocean from our room was simply amazing - if you are willing to pay extra, the premier verandah suites on the west side (I believe it is the west side - ours was number 17) are incredible. You walk outside the room to an outdoor patio that is directly on the ocean with the waves gently hitting against its sides!

But two things stood out most of all. One was the food. We have never eaten that well for an entire week in our lives. My wife needs to eat gluten free, and the staff went out of its way to have special meals prepared for her three times a day - and she did not get sick once! Which brings me to the other thing, which was the staff. They were so nice to us, and did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. If you want a great example, request Johnson as your waiter.

As others have noted, this is not the place to go for loud nightlife, family activities, or organized group beach activities. But that was fine by us, and we can't wait to go back in the future!

I have been to over fifty countries and stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and I must say that the Jamaica Inn is an absolute GEM. The staff takes great pride in their work and some of them have been there for over fifty years. I felt like family from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. Thanks to all the staff for making a five day escape feel like a month long stay. I challenge you to find a flaw in this place. Georgous beach, delicious food, and excellent service. Your expectations will be exceeded. If you are looking for a hotel with nightlife, motorized boats, children, etc. try the place down the road. However, if you are seeking serenity, you have found the spot. I would give this place 5.5 stars if I could.
