Charming resort. We had a great "jamaican" experience. Fabulous sunsets, many nearby restaraunts. Everything within walking distance. Lots bang for the buck.

I visit Negril at least 2-3 times a year and I absolutely love it!!! I always stay at Home Sweet Home and have been doing so since December, 2006. The staff are outgoing and friendly. I am a woman who travels alone and they look out for my safety which is important to me. The vibes on the "cliffs" are amazing! I have stayed at a hotel/resort on the beach but I prefer the cliffs. The beach scene is too hectic for me. I go to decompress and this place delivers. I come to have a "true" island experience which cannot be obtained at one of those beach resorts. Because I visit during the off season, HSH is not crowed. During the off season their on-site restaurant is closed, but there are many places within walking distance to get a good inexspensive meal. Perfect excuse to get out there and mingle with the locals. This modest gem only has 14 rooms & I like the solitude. I just returned from a 7 day stay 0n May 3, 2008 & am planning a return visit October, 2008 .

I hesitate to even write this review because this resort has a bit of a hidden gem quality to it and would rather keep it that way. Priced right with excellent food and fantastic snorkling right off the front of the property located on the "cliffs" of Negril. I am already making plans to go back and watch the sunsets from the lounge chairs overlooking the very blue ocean. The owner Charlie is a great host.

This was my 20th visit to Negril since 1999 and I have stayed at Home Sweet Home 19 times. I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the accommodations are a bargain for the neighborhood. There's a pool and Jacuzzi and an incredible cliff side view that is simply breathtaking. Home Sweet Home is in a word "cozy". It's perfect for the couple or the family who wants to experience something other than the self-contained climate controlled environment of the all-inclusive resorts. Negril is famous for it's spectacular sunsets and there's no place better for watching them than Home Sweet Home. There's a restaurant on the grounds but in the off-season it is often closed. Thankfully, the west end road is dotted with great places to eat that range from cheap to very expensive. Don't let the traffic intimidate you, when the sun is shining venture out onto the road and have a long look around. One way takes you to town and the other way is touristy Rick's and a multitude of other less crowded funkier places. All are welcoming. After dark you need a taxi to get around, street lights are few and far between and the traffic is fast and furious. Most people just hang out on their verandas and enjoy the vibe. It's your Home Sweet Home.
