I do not consider myself a high maintenance person when it comes to sleeping accomodations in Jamaica. I like a clean room with hot water, fresh towels, and clean sheets. That is not what I got at the Paradise View Hotel. The hotel lacked even the basic necessities - not amenities but necessities. I looked at 3 different rooms and ended up staying in 2 different rooms. The first room I stayed in did not have any water when I needed to shower. The second room I looked at had trash in it and urine in the toilet. The room I spent my last night in was cool, but the hot water wasn't working very well and water pressure was very low. The beds slept well, but the sheets were dingy. They needed a good bleaching. If you like TV then the TV had cable/satellite, but most of the stations were fuzzy and had static noises in the background which made the TV unwatchable.
I only spent 2 nights at the hotel due to overbooking at another hotel. I stayed around New Year's Eve, and I will never stay there again even if it's free. If you want to stay at this hotel, request a room closer to the office. Those rooms seemed to be used more frequently, therefore, they are cleaned more often and the decor is a little better. The experience did not ruin my trip at all though. As previously planned before arriving in Negril, I left Negril and went to stay in MoBay for a week. This hotel made my 3 star hotel in MoBay look/feel like a 5 star hotel. :-)
