I got home from my honeymoon about 2 weeks ago. We spent one week in Negril and got married there. We brought 16 other guests and had the best holiday we've ever been on. We travelled from Ireland and found the travelling very tough but as soon as we arrived the staff took care of us. We were offered champagne and brough to our rooms. The staff took care of the bags. FRom the moment we arrived I noticed how friendly the Jamaican people are. In Ireland the hospitality industry is huge and I have always found it hard to stay in a hotel abroad which matches the service we get at home. However this resort was exvellent. The bed was about 8 foot and really high. The bathroom had two sinks and vanity area - very luxurious bathroom. The bath didn't look too inviting but if that's all that was wrong with it, I'd go back.

I honestly have never been in such a welcoming country in my life. The spa is really top notch. I was treated to a pedicure and manicure and they couldn't have done more for me. The beach is so large and wide and during November there weren't too many guests so we had our pick of sun loungers. The trips we went on were great.... quad biking, river walk and cayaking! I would sit out of the shopping trip because it wasn't great.

The waiting staff are so polite you'd want to bring them home with you. The breakfast is to die for with everything you could want on the menu... full irish/english breakfast - omelettes, cereals breads pastries porridge etc.

I would go back to this hotel in the morning! My wedding was fantastic... we got married at the gazebo and had our wedding reception at the mill restaurant at the decking area. It was beautifully decorated and we had a private bar and DJ. The food was gorgeous..... jerk chicken and beef and caesar salad. We were even treated to a pre wedding dinner (Its called a rehearsal but it's just a meal on the beach for you and your guests) It rained the day of my wedding and we still had a great time.

Hopefully I can go back in two years time... it was the best hol i was ever on

From the day we arrived at the resort we had nothing but great service.... It was great!!! Everyone in my party had a great time... the other 2 guests have never been and are ready to go back again.... This was our 3rd time to Jamaica and we love it.... My family had a great time with the the group of young people that organized the activities.... They were the best!!! We all had great food, drinks, and everyday was a different day... never had the same thing going on... other than my favorite, just laying on the beach.... but, I would recommend everyone to go to Jamaica at least one time.... they will keep wanting to go back... everyone is so freindly.... Thanks!!!

“needs renovations”

We are a family of 4, two teenage children, we arrived at 12:00 a.m. and our room was not available until, 2:00 a.m. When we finally got settled into our rooms, the noise from the disco was blarring. Next morning we changed our room to another location on the premises. Our beds were hard as a rock, and the air conditioner sounded like an airplane landing. Restaurants are o.k. however, in the Japanese Restaurant we found cockroaches. The pool had murking water and wasn't that clean. Around the deck of the pool is made of wood which is lifting with nails. The property seems to be run down and need some extensive fixing. Kids game center was great, with supervision. The beach was clean except for the loud noise level that came from the public beach not far from there. I donot recommend going to this hotel during spring break because of the spring break splash that is held for two nights. Be prepared to hear music for two nights until 4:00 a.m. in the morning. The draw back of this it is supposed to be a family resort. Kids need to sleep. Staff is good at the bars and restaurants.
Nice beach to stroll on.

My family and I left for Beaches Negril on Nov. 16th. I traveled with my husband and my two children - each of whom brought a friend. We had a Honeymoon Suite for me, my husband, my daughter and niece. My son and his friend had a Honeymoon Deluxe room. The rooms were great - In the Honeymoon Suite we had plenty of room and certainly didn't feel like we were tripping over each other. The boy's room was perfect too. Housekeeping was there every day and when I called for extra pillows and a blanket it was there in ten minutes. Our frig was stocked daily and every evening they came for turn down service. I was a little nervous initially because of some of the reviews on trip advisor. We stayed for 7 nights 8 days and had an absolutely wonderful time. There are so many people that made our trip a success I feel like I have to mention their names: Donna, Denton, Odain, KD (at the beach), Garrett, both O'Neils and many more. We went snorkeling every day (saw stingrays, squid, nurse shark 4.5 feet long, lobster, star fish, octopus, and tons of tropical fish) to a different spot, did a scuba dive, sailing, kayaking, banana boat, beach & pool volleyball, hydrobikes,.... you can just lay around on the beach if that's your thing - but with so much to do and teenagers we jumped right in and had a blast. The food was great, we especially enjoyed the Seville and the Japanese Rest. The entertainment was as good as the food too (O'Neil - Jap. rest). My husband loved the jerk chicken at the tex-mex rest - but the buffet, The Mill, was my spot for lunch. They always had pasta in garlic and oil which I added chicken and veggies to for lunch. I felt very safe in the resort and was comfortable letting the kids have as much flexibility and freedom as I would in the states while in the resort. We did go off the resort while on the beach and did some jet skiing and parasailing - see Jim for that he'll take care of you, If you go to Beaches and don't have a great time it's no ones fault but your own.

“Not 5 Star And Under Noisy Noisy Renovations Now”

Beaches Negril

4 Dec 2007

Let me begin by saying we have been on several trips and my husband and I are 35 with a 5 year old. We typically only expect clean rooms etc. and decent food as a bare minimum.
We just returned from this property. It is definitely not a 5 star. We visited Beaches in Ocho Rios, Jamaica in 2004 and were also disappointed. Why go back right? Well the Beaches in Negril promised more so we thought we would try another Beaches property hoping for better luck. The pictures on the websites & trip advisor emails looked good! The only good thing about this resort is the staff. It is under renovations, noisy 24/7. The rooms are really cramped for space and good luck fitting three people in a deluxe - need a suite and really hard to get at the best of times. For the money to visit this resort it is definitely not worth it. May be a good idea to go somewhere else and look at this property in a year or so when some major improvements are made.
