I have recently returned from Samsara for our second time this year. The hotel is not the Ritz or a mega resort but perfect for those who wish to be left alone. We stayed 2 times in the Pillar Homes which overlook the Cliffs. We didn't even get to Ricks to watch the sunset on both trips to Samsara.The sunset from our Balcony was perfect back in January and of course being October the weather wasn't always Sunset weather that time of the year.

We spent 5 days in Negril and 3 days the weather was sunny until late afternoon. By that time we had enough sun and just enjoyed hanging out at the small bar.

We have on both occasions had all inclusive but there are several small restaurants nearby that you can go to as well. Even have dinner at the Rockhouse or Xtabi they are both wonderful places.

Recommend:
1. Bring your own beach towels, soap, sunscreen, hairdryer from home. Bring bandaids and any essentials that you won't have to buy in Jamaica. They can be very expensive!

2. We usually bring 50 one dollar bills and small bills good for tipping.

3. Fill out your immigration forms on the plane, I couldn't believe how many on our flight did not complete these forms and were held up in immigration while my husband and I went through in about 5 minutes.

4. The hotel has a shuttle that leaves at 10am and returns at 4pm to Legends so you can spend some time on 7 mile beach.

5. Watch going in the water from the cliffs, both times I have been to the cliffs I have cut myself on the rocks. I love the swimming and snorkeling there so I didn't let that stop me.

I was looking for laid back and not institutuional. Great place to do as little or as much as you want. Yes, jump off the cliffs! If this old lady could do it, you can too. Place was very clean, NO children and a very mixed bag of couples, singles and types. Eat breakfast at Choices just next door. Bettter food and really good value. Go to dinner at SweetSpice. Negotiate your taxi fare first! Best food any place I ate in Jamaica. All the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful but Maureen the bartender was really good. Nice attitude, great smile and a good memory for what you wanted. Remember, this is NOT a big resort or anywhere brand new but clean, fun and well run. Have a great time in Jamaica.

I've been to this place a few times and absolutely love it. When you stay here, you have access to thier sister hotel on the beach and they have a shuttle that goes down at 10 and returns at 4. It is not the nicest place in Negril but it is a great bargain and the view from the cliffs is incredible. The staff are nice too. Not for someone looking for a luxury hotel.

Stayed at Samsara with my 16 year old daughter. We had a great time. It was fun for two whole weeks.
The staff at both Samsara and their sister hotel Legends were great. Everyone from the management to the cleaners were polite, kind and always asked after us and nothing was to much if we did ask for something. Our cleaner, Pauline was lovely. She cleaned every day and left lovely flowers for me. The chefs were also great and the food was ok. There was always something different.
We had live music two nights a week at legends and two nights at samsara. Great fun. Different songs and they got everyone up and dancing or singing.
The pools at samsara and legends are great. The hot tub at samsara was retiled while we were there and looks great.
The room was nearly painted and very clean. The bathroom had also been retiled and painted as had the balcony. The gardens were also lovely at both hotels.
Beach security at legends was great. Micheal, the security is great. You could leave your bags, cameras or kids on the beach and come back to them. No one on the beach messes with him.
Cilla was a diamond. She is a waitress at samsara and the moment your plate was empty she was there asking if you needed more, or a drink. Lovely manners. The rest of the staff, paul, Big Momma, Oreet, Owayne and all the others are great.
We can't wait to go back. We met loads of guests who had been returning to legends or samsara for years. They said improvements were happening all the time.
Walk form samsara to legends is great.
