We stayed at the Hotel Mocking bird Hill in January 2007 for ten days and it was truly amazing!
The hotel is set in huge ,stunning ,well maintained lush gardens filled with orchids and hundreds of other exotic plants and flowers. There are humming birds everywhere that are so beautifull to watch as well as many other birds and wildlife.
The views are out of this world, you can see the Blue Mountains and you can see right over the bays and monkey island. The hotel has a huge balcony upstairs with fantastic openviews excellent for relaxing and photoghraphing birds and scenery.
The food is truly fantastic as the owners source only food from the local farmers etc to provide excellent fresh food every day.something which allot of hotels dont do in Jamaica!this is because alot of hotels in jamaica are American owned and they order in frozen food and canned foods!so the choice is usually very little.we have found this to be the case with oher places we have stayed in jamaica.we prefer jamaican hotels as the money goes into the community rather than a bank outwith jamaica!
I cant remember examples but they make everything home made, everything on the menu is mouth watering.breakfast is great , home made breads and jams and fruit or whatever you fancy on the breakfast menu.
Elmar is truly the best chef in the world, you simply have not lived until you taste his amazing cusine.
The fact that this is an eco friendly hotel in such a stunning place has to be admired as this is how it should be!the rooms are all a very good size with balconys, beautifull bathrooms, very comfy clean beds and room , fresh flowers and fruit in the room and excellent coffee!
when we arrived at the hotel we had come from the hotel we actually booked but it was terrible so we checked in here as it had also been recomended.as soon as we drove in we loved it, so tropical and a stunning place inside and out.Gorgeous pool area.We were both suffering from a long car travel from treasure beach on the south coast and bad food poisoning.we were welcomed so well by the Hotel who could tell we were feeling rough so we were given a lovely room with fantastic view and a hammock.they gave us food to help our tummies and tea and we got a discount from them out of kindness as they realised we had had to pay for other accomodation and didnt want the bad hotel to ruin our experience of the area!that was extreemly kind!our stay was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excellent we will definately stay again.Thank-you so much for your hospitality

“5 nights at Mocking Bird Hill”

Spent a fantastic 5 nights at Mockingbird Hill Hotel. Can thoroughly recommend it: excellent food including vegetarian options; lovely rooms; friendly and professional service (thank you Nicola and Byron!). The in-house tour advisor meant that we made the most of our stay with trips to the Rio Grande, snorkelling around the Blue Lagoon, Reach Falls and a hillside hike with a bit of bird spotting thrown in for good measure. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle this is the place to go.

If your looking for something different, exotic and completely pleasurable you would be hard pressed to find a better location and value than the Mockingbird Hill hotel in Port Antonio, Jamaica.

It is a small, boutique hotel nestled in the verdant hills overlooking the port and Shireen and Barbara and their team work hard to make you feel at home from the moment you arrive to the time your leave.

If you want something different but completely pleasurable and totally relaxing, consider the Mockingbirdhill Hotel.

“All round amazing Jamaican experience”

Hotel Mocking Bird Hill

25 Mar 2007

Our welcome at Hotel Mocking Bird Hill was warm, sincere, helpful; and immediately we felt relaxed after the journey there. This is a truly beautiful place in terms of ambience, food, decor, and all you could want in a true get-away holiday. It has great style, comfort, lots of interests, friendliness, amazing service and food I will never forget and miss already. There are lovely people who run and stay at this hotel - which is just the right size for informality, privacy or company; and has gorgeous garden trails and bird-life to explore - not to mention an excellent, fascinating art gallery. This is low-key, high quality, eco-friendly holidaying at its best. Our time was made particularly great with the suggestions for 1/2 and full day trips, arrangements that happened like magic and adventures experienced that you would never find in a conventional resort trip. It was non-touristy, but traveller-friendly to the max! The proprietors are to be congratulated for giving back to the community, caring for their guests and their environment and providing this special holiday experience.

“Relax and enjoy live and nature in Jamaica.”

Hotel Mocking Bird Hill

25 Mar 2007

In the period of 4 up to 18 March 2007 we travelled around beautiful Jamaica and were successively at guest in the hotels Tony's Resort in Montego Bay, Sand Castles in Ocho Rios, Mockingbird Hill in port Antonio, The Courtleigh in Kingston, Treasure Beach Roh in Treasure Beach, Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay. In this range the stay in Mockingbird Hill was the most pleasant. The only hotel where you don't need your mosquito spray: we found both a mosquito-curtain and an electric set to dissipate mosquitos. No mass-tourism but personal attention; no inevitable noise but peaceful rest and silence which it makes possible to see the birds and hear them singing. Near splendid bays to swim and snorkel. The restaurant is top class. If you wish to be not just a number in the crowd of tourists, Mockingbird Hill should be your choice.
