We stayed at the Hotel Mocking bird Hill in January 2007 for ten days and it was truly amazing!
The hotel is set in huge ,stunning ,well maintained lush gardens filled with orchids and hundreds of other exotic plants and flowers. There are humming birds everywhere that are so beautifull to watch as well as many other birds and wildlife.
The views are out of this world, you can see the Blue Mountains and you can see right over the bays and monkey island. The hotel has a huge balcony upstairs with fantastic openviews excellent for relaxing and photoghraphing birds and scenery.
The food is truly fantastic as the owners source only food from the local farmers etc to provide excellent fresh food every day.something which allot of hotels dont do in Jamaica!this is because alot of hotels in jamaica are American owned and they order in frozen food and canned foods!so the choice is usually very little.we have found this to be the case with oher places we have stayed in jamaica.we prefer jamaican hotels as the money goes into the community rather than a bank outwith jamaica!
I cant remember examples but they make everything home made, everything on the menu is mouth watering.breakfast is great , home made breads and jams and fruit or whatever you fancy on the breakfast menu.
Elmar is truly the best chef in the world, you simply have not lived until you taste his amazing cusine.
The fact that this is an eco friendly hotel in such a stunning place has to be admired as this is how it should be!the rooms are all a very good size with balconys, beautifull bathrooms, very comfy clean beds and room , fresh flowers and fruit in the room and excellent coffee!
when we arrived at the hotel we had come from the hotel we actually booked but it was terrible so we checked in here as it had also been recomended.as soon as we drove in we loved it, so tropical and a stunning place inside and out.Gorgeous pool area.We were both suffering from a long car travel from treasure beach on the south coast and bad food poisoning.we were welcomed so well by the Hotel who could tell we were feeling rough so we were given a lovely room with fantastic view and a hammock.they gave us food to help our tummies and tea and we got a discount from them out of kindness as they realised we had had to pay for other accomodation and didnt want the bad hotel to ruin our experience of the area!that was extreemly kind!our stay was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excellent we will definately stay again.Thank-you so much for your hospitality
