When we were greeted by Sandra Holness, Concierge of Breezes Runaway Bay Jamaica, not only did she make us feel at home, she made us feel like like she was our best friend. Also, Novellette Dyer, the front desk manager, helped us patiently with the problems we were having with AirJamica. (flight was cancelled etc.) Also, Verona William, in the entertainment dept., was fun, energetic and made the fun side of our vacaction very memorable. Dispite the rain for 2 days, Verona made our sun shine in the rain.
Glenburt, manager of restuarants, was extremely friendly, fun and an amazing person. Garth Brooks, photographer, was fun, friendly and very funny. Throughout our stay, Sandra Holness, Novelette Dyer, Verona Williams, Glenburt and Garth Brooks made sure our stay at Breezes Runway Bay was the best vacation we ever had taken.
All the staff was overly friendly, but these five people gave us great memories.
And when we come back to Breezes Runaway Bay, I hope to see those 5 people again.
Thank you for showing us the best vacation we had taken so far.

“A resort with possibility”

Breezes Runaway Bay Resort & Golf Club

Before heading to Breezes I had come online to read other people's reviews. There were some good and some bad but for the most part if someone complained in a review, they complained about everything. Let me also preface my review by remarking on my previous travel experience. Typically I stay at hotels such as the Hilton and eat at restaruants typically $20 - $30 a plate.

I went to Breezes with my best friend from college. From arrival to departure the staff is amazing! They were so attentive and really made the trip a great time. The bartenders, Lennox and Wade are willing to participate in any activites you bring their way. Crawzy Chris keeps everyone going with his witty humor and on the side he is great conversation if you ever get a chance to talk to him.

The place is kept very clean. I have never seen so much mopping going on at any resort before. The room was nice. It had a mildewy smell but was to be expected because the room was older. If you opened your patio doors though the smell disipated.

The tours are great. The drivers are more than willing to take you anywhere you want to go.

Okay, now the bad part. The food was horrible!!!!! Maybe I was there on a bad week but I have never been to a resort where I lost weight. There was very little fruit offered while I was there. I dont go for meat, so I really did notice the lack of seafood that was there. However, I went to Hedonism for one night, it is right up the beach, and there food was amazing. Breezes and Hedonism are both Superclub resorts at the same price range so I still don't understand why there food was so good and our's was lacking. Also the eating schedule is scheduled. Do not expect to get a snack outside the typical 7-10 breakfast or 1 - 3 lunch because there are none. I asked.

If Breezes could upgrade there food I would definitely go back, but without it, it just was not worth the money.

I just got back from the resort yesterday, so please feel free to contact me if you want to know more.

This was my 26th visit to Breezes and it seems that it gets better each time we go!
The staff were friendly as ever, the quality of the food is improving each time, and the choices have grown.

We brought another couple with us who were there for the first time. When they showed the pictures of the resort to their daughter who was planning a wedding in Fripp Island this fall, she changed her mind, the wedding chapel on the beach was what she had always imagined as the place to get married, SO they have booked a trip for August and a wedding will be taking place!

Thanks again Breezes! Looking forward to our next trip there!

“Fabulous as always”

Breezes Runaway Bay Resort & Golf Club

What can I say..... This was my 5th time at Breezes and again it was FABULOUS ! The renovations were wonderful... We stayed in a Veranda Suite with a plunge pool which was nice.... I can say nothing bad about the whole experience from check in at the airport which was greatly improved from my previous experience, to the trip to the resort which by the way is shorter since some of the major roads are improved.... We arrived at 2pm had lunch and our room was ready after we ate.... If you are looking for great food, staff, and the choice to participate in the games and activities or do nothing at alll this is the place to go.... The food was wonderful and the choices were many..... The cleanliness of the resort was outstanding....... Staff were attentive and wonderful meeting our every need before we asked....... The Regge Cafe has the best Jerk on the island...

There is a new infinity pool with a swim up pool bar the younger crowd gathered there which left the larger pool to those who were not so inclined to party it was great... There was an abundance of pool chairs and cabanas...

This resort is not loud or annoying by those who wish to take advantage of the all inclusive in regards to alcohol... Bar games are played but they are quite entertaining...

If you are looking for a relaxing trip in beautiful surroundings I highly recommend this resort.

“vacation of our life!”

My husband and I just returned from our first ever trip alone in 23 years of marriage! Our 6 kids are now at an age where we felt comfortable going away - so we did! For 7 nights we stayed at Breezes Runaway Bay, Jamaica and we had the time of our life! We loved everything about the resort and the people! The room was plenty for us, the food was awesome, the entertainment was fun, scenery and beach was amazing, and met a lot of new friends! We do not drink alcohol, but for those who do, let me tell you, there is a ton of it here! We had a great time!

We went snorkeling, sunfish sailing, glass bottom boat riding and that was all for no additional cost. The staff in the watersports area were very nice, but our favorite person there was Keston, a lovely 19 year old boy who works there and is so sweet! He took us out on our first sunfish sailing ride and he showed my husband how to handle the boat because we had said we wanted to take it out alone the next time. He even sang to us on the boat - it was the sweetest time ever!

Off of the resort, we went to Dunns River Falls, which I'd highly recommend - we arranged it through the front desk. If I remember correctly this cost $60 for both of us to do (that includes transportation and the tour- it's about a 30 minute ride to the Falls) (they sell a video afterwards, I think that was $30 - If you take your camera, one of the guides will carry it and they stopped for our group 3 times and took pictures - If you aren't taking a camera, don't worry, they will offer you a picture for about $8 as they take pictures of each person or couple in the group in front of one of the falls.)

The front desk at Breezes gives you a paper when you check in of all of the tours they provide and the cost. If you are thinking of going, you could probably contact them for the paper ahead of time so you can research all of the different venues.

We also went on the Chukka Zip LIne Canopy Tour - this was $170 for us together to do. This was BREATHTAKING fun! I would not recommend it, however, if you have any trouble walking down alot of stairs. We walked down steps for about 10 minutes before we got started on the zip lines. The place was located just about 10 minutes east of the resort, they take you by bus, then you get out, sign a waiver, then reboard the bus to be taken high up into the hills - lots of nice scenery - I'm guessing the 2nd portion of the bus ride was about 15 minutes. There were 9 "zips" in all that we did. The first 3 or 4 you wait after you get to the next tree for all of the people to get done (there were about 40 I'm guessing with us), but after that, it starts going very fast and you get to a landing and step around the tree to the other side and they send you right on your way again flying through the jungle-like area.

The other tour we left the resort for was for a shopping trip to Ocho Rios. We liked Taj Mahal shopping, and they were going to take us to the straw market but the other couple with us (yes, only two couples on the bus) did not care to go there, so we didn't go to that, and instead went to a different shopping "mall" which is right where the tourists come off of the cruise ships, naturally, the prices were not good there. The shopping tour was $30.

We also took a bicycle tour of the area across the road from the resort, we were gone for about 40 minutes - a nice ride.

We learned alot about Jamaican culture just by talking to the people we came in contact with. They were all very VERY friendly. Many of the Jamaican's do not have very much money, but they are very happy people - lessons to be learned!!

After you get to the resort, there is no need for your wallet unless you are planning on buying something. Truly all meals, drinks, watersports, bike rides, etc. are included and no tip is ever expected. When we travelled we did always tip our bus driver. We exchanged addresses with our favorite resort employees and my plan is to keep in contact with them and send them a personal gift in this way.

Make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen as the sun is very strong here. Also, I would pack an extra pair of sunglasses as I broke mine and I thought they were a little pricey at the gift shop (also, sunscreen is around $15 at the gift shop).

We did also leave the private beach onto the public beach. I would not advise it unless you are prepared for it. They are rather aggressive sales people out there. We were also offered gangi (Jamaican marijuana) on the public beach, simply said no thanks, and that was fine, they left you alone. Now if you said no thank you to the other merchandise, t-shirts, jewelry, wood carvings, they didn't take no thanks very well and kept pushing you to buy from them. If they would have just left me alone, I would have bought much more than I did.

We hope to return to Breezes Runaway Bay again! WE LOVED THIS PLACE!!!
