Firstly, we're very happy that we didn't read any of the reviews, particularly from Americans, prior to our holiday.
On arrival, having spent 25 hours travelling from our home to the RDC, coupled with a hideous experience in the airport, we were not most pleased to find our accommodation unready. However, ALL of the staff from the porters to the reception staff and entertainment staff were most apologetic and took us to the bar to get some food whilst the room was being prepared. We did not get a cottage as originally expected, but had the most fantastic suite, it was kept clean, with fresh bed linen every 2 days, the A/C was brilliant and not a bug in sight. The only problem we had was that the shower didn't work properly. We reported this to reception in the morning and by the time we went back to our room at 5pm it was perfect.
All of the staff without exception at the RDC were polite, friendly, and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. In a country where people have so little, how on earth can they be so happy, polite and helpful to people that have so much without the slightest hint of resentment. We think that most other nationalities, including the Brits, could learn a lot from these lovely people. The gardens were a dream, they were impecably tended with not so much as a leaf out of place. Pablito's pool was immaculate, not easy with the mess some people left.
To Maria, Sadeka, Delita, o'Neil, o'Fell, o'Kiel and Pablito, saying goodbye was like leaving family!! Thank you for making our first holiday in Jamaica one we will never forget and can't wait to repeat. The entertainment was brilliant, always fun and the audience were encouraged to take part, but not bullied to do so. The resident band, True Vibrations were amazing, brilliant voices and the Mento bands were entertaining. One of the biggest shocks was Albert "the hat maker", when he took the microphone the whole place came to a shocked standstill. He was incredible. To all of the staff from waiters to gardeners including reception/management, sorry we don't know all of your names, but you were fantastic.
The food was fantastic, we had never seen so much of every food imaginable. It was delicious and a huge variety was available for every meal.
We went out on one day trip which was Dunn's River Falls and Swimming with Dolphins. These were absolutely amazing and we would highly recommend them. There was not one thing about this place we didn't like which is why we only did one trip out!

Please do not be put off by the bad reviews of this hotel. Obviously if someone has a bad experience it will prejudice their review. In my experience at this resort the vast majority of people were more than happy. We got the cottages we booked. Any problems we encountered (ie. shower water running slowly) were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The staff were all friendly and helpful. How anyone can say that the food was bland is beyond me! We have stayed in 3* and 4* hotels in Europe and this hotel beats all of them with regard to food and service. Sure, the drinks are served in plastic cups which makes sense when you are around a pool where some small children might be playing.

The jetti bar is such a cool place to hang out!! George is very entertaining and great fun. This place gives you a chance to chill if you do not like the entertainment.

The beach is fine. The sea is rocky in places but certainly not all over. The gardens are a real pleasure to walk round and are attended regularly.

The trips we took were to Dunns River Falls, Nine Mile (by jeep) and Swim with Dolphins. All were fantastic, particularly the Bob Marley village at Nine Mile and our teenage kids loved the dolphin experience.

If you want good food, good service and a brilliant time, don't hesitate to come here. If you encounter problems you will be courteously treated if you are equally courteous to the staff. Shouting and aggressiveness will get you no-where in any country. Jamaica is a friendly, relaxed country. We would return very soon if funds allowed!!

I am glad I didn't read the reviews before I went as it may have put me off. Yes the entertainment can get a bit much but I stayed away from the main pool, there is also the quiet pool and the beach. Most evevnings were spent at the Jetty bar being well looked after by George and his colleagues. The cottages were really nice and very spacious and kept very clean. we had a garden one and were lucky enough to get a nice litttle patio. The beach ones looked lovely if you have the extra money. The food was above average most nights (there were only 2 nights I couldn't find anything I liked, but there was always the salad bar and also the ice cream. The gardens were well kept and the beaches were nice.

My family stayed at Club Caribbean for 2 weeks in July 2006... We are Jamaicans that has lived in North America for many many years and found the treatment we received unacceptable. Ann from guest relations and also Neil the cashier was disgusting, and they treated my family horribly, and during the 2 week stay none of them offered an apology. After returning home, we wrote a letter to the company outlining what our experience was and we did not receive any acknowledgement. We work too hard for our money, and don't think it is right to patronize a company that treated us that way. Of course we will be back to our home country but definitely never to this resort again.

A note to the company, customer service should be very important to you, consumers vote with their money, they can decide who stays in business and who does not based on where they spend their money.

Many thanks to the nice people that work there that know about customer service, Sadeka, Caple, the wait staff and housekeeping.

We just got back from a week's vacation. We did not get the room we reserved, we asked daily for a better room and were told nothing could be done. The staff kept pushing us from one person to the next. We had a view of the trash cans from our room. The entertainment was lame. We have stayed in other all inclusives that had much better entertainment. The beach had very few chairs for the number of people in the resort. The food was poor, had very little taste and not much variety at all. The drinks at the bar were weak and they ran out of Red Stripe most nights. The staff was generally friendly. The Jeti bar was the best spot, George the bartender is great! The beach was nice to lay on but very rocky in the water. I would never visit this resort again and suggest you look elsewhere too.
