This was my first stay there. Very nice place to stay...VERY CLEAN and friendly staff.....excellent location..!!!!!!!!

Go and try it....you won't regreat it...

There are no words to explain how in love we are with this place. We did a last minute booking and they offered us a wonderful 1 bedroom condo for a great price. The place was sold out for the weekend with only that one room remaining - yet they attended us as if we were the only guests in the place. The place - charming with a Bed & Breakfast feel. Gorgeous main house with a relaxed atmosphere. It was the Melrose Place of San Juan. The ocean (Ocean Park) was just steps away, literally. Tropical Breakfasts (their own version of continental) were served in their restaurant or on the outside tables right on the beach. The sunrises were incredible. I was with just a friend but I will def. come back with someone special ;). The place was romantic yet family friendly. The staff was nothing but helpful, even when our hot water ran out and quickly fixed it. The restaurant on it's premises UVVA offered the same type of service with great food at reasonable prices for a boutique type setting. Ocean Park is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in the San Juan area. You can def. spot the beautiful people of San Juan bathing there and yet not feel like a tourist. The private beach offered tranquility and a sense of "I OWN THIS PLACE!" - even if it was for just two days. Plenty of lounge chairs were available for use in the beach.

I have stayed at 4 and 5 star resorts all my life. And the service and the cleanliness and the ambiance of this quaint place takes all by storm. Forget the Conquistador and the El San Juan Hotel - Hosteria del Mar is my new place to stay!

i had a blast 2000 it was outstanding the food was great a++++ the people was very warm and the community was very private night's there is wonderful ocean veiw too wonderful i plan to take my husband for his birthday 8/2005 i give this place an a+++++++

My fiance and I just returned from a wonderful long weekend in Puerto Rico and one of the best parts of the trip was our stay at Hosteria del Mar. The hotel itself truly exceeded all of my (high) expectations-- not only is it RIGHT on the beach, but it's tropical decor and atmosphere really enhances its Caribbean feel. Our room was probably the cheapest one there and was by no means fancy, but it was perfectly comfortable for us (we were thrilled that it faced the ocean and we could hear the waves at night-- that's all it takes to make me happy!). Water pressure wasn't always 100% but it was fine. The restaurant/bar area did get loud at times but it wasn't too big of a deal. We ate one night at Uvva, Hosteria's restaurant, and although the atmostphere was terrific (we ate at one of the beach tables, right on the sand) I wasn't terrible impressed with the food. The beach is great, water was a little choppy but fun for swimming. Hosteria provides chaise lounges for guests but they go quickly, get out and reserve one early! Also, a nice continental breakfast was included in the room price, which I wasn't expecting. We had no trouble finding our way into gated Ocean Park or parking our rental car on the street. We also walked through the neighborhood at night a few times and felt perfectly safe. In short, Hosteria del Mar was the perfect hotel for us, and I will absolutely stay there a second time if I go back to PR! Whatever you choose, have a great vacation.
