We were in the Regency Hotel from 05/07/04 to 05/12/04. We had a great time. The hotel upgraded us to a suite and we got a spectacular view of the ocean. The service was courteous and fast. Our balcony door was jammed and could not be opened. It was attended to promptly. The Wyndham is next door and all facilities can be availed from there including the pool and tours.The only disdavantage was that the beach (isle verde) is quite far. But old san juan and the beaches are readily accessible with a 25c bus ride (not after 9.00 pm though when the party begins in old san juan!). For the price we paid we got what we deserved. I have been reading reviews of a lot of people on this web site. Some poeple dont realise that they are actually leaving their home and going for a visit and expect the world from a hotel/bar or restaurant. Issues like mosquitoes nets, expensive food, harassing locals, chipped walls are all part of the travel experience. Get over it!

We stayed here in Feb. 04, 1 night before our cruise and 2 nights after
the cruise. We were alittle worried because some of the reviews we had
read weren't the greatest. But we decided we would stay here the 1st
night and then decide whether to stay here the other 2 nights we were
planning.
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It is not new, it is not all that fancy. But the rooms are huge, the bathrooms huge and everything was very clean. We had a balcony that over looked the pool and ocean and the porch/walkway overlooked the cruise ships. We were very happy here. It is located very close to many restaurants and we could use all the amenities of the Condado next door.
With the price at $150 night we felt this was one of the better values in SJ. We spoke to other people that had stayed in the best western and hated it, there was so much wrong i think they got all their money back! Not here...the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful.
After our cruise was over we headed to the hotel and they held our luggage for 3 hours while our rooms were getting clean.
There are frigs in the rooms, phones, tv, desks 2 soft comfy chairs.
Really this is a very nice hotel. Enjoy your self here, and don't be nervous.

went w/ my BF in february. we stayed at the san juan beach hotel the same week, and much preferred this hotel. although the lobby's a bit severe, this hotel had a good parking lot, great air conditioning, a great bed, great bathrooms, great towels, and good service. also, the other hotel was extremely damp, so staying at the regency was a great relief. it's just a few blocks further from the beach than some of the other hotels, but it's a pleasant walk so we didn't mind, plus it's a tad bit closer to old san juan (a 5 minute ride by bus).

I spent there 9 days wuith my family (4), our rooms were clean, large with a balcony above the ocean. I wish i'll be back there when returning to PR. Breakfeast was rather good but the room is too small.
