First, here's the deal on the noise everyone alternately complains about or says isn't so bad. Some nights, notably Thursdays (and perhaps some others) are "theme" nights at the club downstairs. Thursdays = Drums. Loud Drums. Drums so loud that even with 32db earplugs deep in your ears, you won't have a chance of sleeping soundly until after 2-3 am when it dies down. This applies to the "outside" rooms, not the interior ones. The "regular" music /noise is easily blocked out by some earplugs, and really isn't that bad, even without plugs, at least in our 4th story room.
The hotel itself is fine; the rooms are on the small side, as befits it's self-styled, "classic hostels of Europe," description. The staff was friendly and lots of interesting art scattered throughout. The location absolutely cannot be beat, and is the real reason this hotel is a good value at around $100 for the average room.
WiFi in the lobby worked great, and they have a nice flatscreen up on the wall along with a wireless keyboard and mouse for those that don't have a laptop.
Overall, BIG plus for location, don't stay in an "outside" room on (at least) Thursday nights. Bring earplugs for other nights in an "outside" room.
