We stayed here May 2006 and were very pleased. Since there was limited info on TripAdvisor we were hesitant but booked on agent recommendations. We had a first floor beach front room that you could go out on the balcony/kitchenette and almost touch the beach. The room was modest but spotlessly clean and provided everything you could want. The pool area/restaurant was small but again very clean. The food was good and was reasonably priced for St. Barths standards. We explored the whole island and found this beach to be the most beautiful. I couldn't get my wife out of the calm clear water. Our room included a rental car but be forewarned driving is a challenge on the island as the roads are narrow, curvy and people drive fast. The owner (Annie) was very gracious, not intrusive, but always willing to assist your needs. We checked out some of the other "posher" resorts on the island and if we would go back we would stay here again. We are well travelled in the Caribbean and Mexico and If you are looking for a private, intimate property and don't need a large mega resort you will enjoy this property immensely.

I reserved a room on March 23rd for May 25-28 (two months in advance). The next day, on March 24th, I was notified that I had to cancell the last two days. When I notified the hotel, they hit me with an 8% cancellation fee. I realize that they have these fees to ensure that they have these rooms rented. But to impose it 24 hours later, before the charge even hits my card and over two months before the date is ridiculous. Most hotels have a policy that you can cancel up to 6 the night you are staying. I have never heard of a policy that, in effect, is effective the moment you rent the room TWO months in advance. I will never stay there when I return. I felt that was unfair treatment.

The Baie des Anges is indeed a steal for what other hotels on this island charge. Fancy, it is not. Clean, it certainly is. Wonderful location, we thought so. Beach, glorious and for some reason, curiously empty. The owner of Baie des Anges became our pal, not only after staying at the hotel for a few years, but also from going to the onsite restaurant, La Langouste, which is our absolute favorite on St. Barth's. Annie Ange, the owner, is a first rate angel, and one of the sweetest people we have ever had the fortune to meet on any vacation. The units are very adequate and roomy and you cannot beat the value. Pool is not really anything special, but you won't mind with the beach right there. You can also beach, come up to lunch by the pool, then back to the beach after you eat. It's glorious. The area has some handy little Epiceries for your to grab your groceries, and do breakfast on your patio. Very glorious, the entire experience.

My wife and I stayed here for a week recently. We really enjoyed the hotel and the service. Our room was very nice (modest but very nice) and had a kitchenette on the outdoor balcony. We frequently shopped at the interesting little markets in-town and then cooked on the balcony. The owner (Annie) and her staff were suberb - very friendly and very professional at all times. They made us feel at home and were very accommodating. The on-site restaurant is also excellent (definitely try the lobster!). For the money, this little hotel is an excellent value and we will return in the future.
